Changed the system from one corner of the room to the other to use the new dedicated hifi spur……10mm T&E, 100 amp rcd and 32 mcb with a mcru faceplate.
An extra level of fraim on each stack giving a space for the Phoenixnet top right and some air around 552 top left and above and below the ND555 above the Melco N10.
Speaker cable changed back to Kudos ks-1 from WH Spectre. A lot of changes all at once…….but it does sound faster and more dynamic despite the Spectre being removed.
Love the way you have used the air vent. Very efficient.
It saved drilling a hole for the ethernet cable😁
Hoping to see some Christmas decorations on these System pics!
Looking good Gary. That Nova sure proved to be the entry level drug
Likewise. I tried the KS-1 whilst ‘testing’ the Spectre and it trumped both it, and the Phantom I had been using.
I was very honest with WH about it in my feedback.

For me i still prefer Spectre but when i did move my hifi gear i then tried to put the Spectre thru the conduit under our fireplace by pushing and then pulling. Naim naca5 is less flexible and can take more brute force and does get thru, ks-1 is slimmer and gets thru……Spectre was not owned by me and i felt it would get damaged, so did not try too hard.
So for me i would still like Spectre in this system and room, but having it trailing around the front of our logburner this winter was not going to happen.
Thank you. It’s been 45 years in the making but I’ve finally arrived
So soon…
Hardly into December…
The damn stores here have had Christmas stuff out for a month already.
'Tis the $ea$on…
Wonderful colour scheme if you don’t mind me saying
I would get ripping if I were you. Ten CDs a day over the holiday period will give you a good start!
OK, Here’s my ‘cobbled together’ pile, all bought bit by bit ‘as a punt’ I think of it as a work in progress with progress very slow
That’s granite on the cupboard top
Interesting about the KS-1 vs the Spectre… is the Soectre bedded in? I do know the KS-1 cable made my phantom sound broken when I put it back in.
I have had the Spectre for many months……it just will not fit under my fireplace.
I admire your discipline - I’m not sure I’d be able to wait. Would you please tell me which type of storage device you’ll be adding, i.e.: SSD HDD, brand, model and capacity. The reason I’m interested is because the Uniti Core is a possible next step for me if/when my NS01 dies and I find it confusing knowing what would be needed beyond the unit itself. Thanks.
