System Pics 2022

That UE is my wife’s system…she’s never expressed much of an interest in my Muso QB… I’ll have to remedy that, lol.

This was bought as a stopgap when I was away and not on my usual tour - when the company “went bust” - won’t mention the name but sheep always looked nervous as we passed by in our big blue mercs - I passed it to my good lady as she won’t go anywhere near the main system - so it sits in our bedroom!

Wait…JBL is selling whisky now?

Yes, my wife’s using our Linn was spoilt by an (ex) friend ( hifi buff ) telling her she was cueing a record wrongly…despite my dealer later reassuring her she wasn’t, she’s never been keen on playing a record since. A real shame, but at least she likes the result when I play records - except for jazz!

Not like mine then - tv and films - but Monday to Thursday she goes to help look after her mum in the next village so I can rock out a little by myself - only trouble is we are in a detached house but we have like a downstairs annex which is where my dad lives - but we want to em both for as long as we can so that’s the way it works!

@Myx those KEF’s look stunning. I audition’d them in the past and remember they sound very well
Iver

SL2s sounding mighty fine with a 552DR / 300 at the helm…

Vega G1 in dac only mode. Qutest is out. and will be moved on sometime. Also got an Altair G1 to run in the study and synch to the Aries. That is me done for a while on the main system.
The next big upgrade will be if Naim get Amazon HD on board. Then it will be a shootout between GoldNote , Auralic G2 and Naim Ndx2. That will just leave me with a future amp to upgrade, probably a Nap 500 DR. Many happy years of upgrades to look forward to.

HiFiman,

Lovely looking set up. Reminds me of how I had my IBL’s placed at a previous property. I notice the TV soundbar - do you not use the hi-fi for TV sound, and if not I’m curious (well OK nosy) to know why?

Thanks Pete :slightly_smiling_face:

I keep the Telly totally isolated from the rig and use the Sonos Beam for TV audio.

The Beam works well as the Amazon TV stick remote can control the volume on the Beam the TV is essentially just a panel and I use the Amazon TV stick for Amazon, Netflix and Channels DVR so one remote does all.

Channels DVR works using a HD Homerun dual tuner in the loft this feeds freeview over the LAN, QNAP is used for freeview recordings and can be picked up on all my tellys in the house that have an Amazon TV stick.

That’s an interesting setup. Must look up the Channels DVR.

Can’t see me posting a picture in this thread again this year. Everything is all packed up ready for the pick up and storage tomorrow. It’s a lot of work and it certainly takes a lot of space.

I’ve been there @Pete_the_painter . It’s a marathon not a sprint. After 2 years and burning through multiple architects and builders, I designed the new house myself and got a thumbs up from Mrs. FZ. Maybe year 3 will be the charm.

From experience and can whole heartedly recommend having fun building a simpler budget system for your temporary living arrangement.

When I was without my system during 2 months, because of my pre service, I watched a lot some concerts on YouTube through my tv. Hope you will find a way to still enjoy music during that long time.
