Not normally a big SBL fan but that veneer looks quite lovely
It could be worth looking into though there is surprisingly little information on the net. Some articles exist on using APX type power supplies but I wanted something more encased and ‘safe’, hence I went for a radio communications supply.
Genesis amplifiers are highly regarded and sought after: indeed, under new ownership updated designs continue to be built in the UK though trying to track down a dealer for the new amps is difficult. Their new designs look like this:
Alternatively, Mosconi and Sinfoni make good amplifiers in Italy and Brax (part of Audiotech Fischer) make very nice amplifiers in Germany.
Clearly a car audio amplifier, even when excellent quality, will not suite everyone but the adjustable crossovers are a boon, they may take both low and high level signal inputs and they are often 2 or even 1 ohm stable which might be handy if you have very demanding speakers. Having a good quality 12v supply could also enable one to use high quality DSP solutions from the likes of Helix as an alternative to MiniDSP.
Doesn’t look the same without the banana taped to the wall.
I was hungry. I didn’t know.
The 52/SC back from Naim. Agile and fresh. Installed CAD ground box for the Urika 1 in the LP12 and to the CD12. Sound better than ever and transformer hum is lower (but not gone). Feels great to have the boys back in the house!
Thanks, love those SBL’s as well.
Good point concerning the slabs.
I used them on a suspended floor and I just put them in again at the new home, without considering it. We just hag a glued down parquet floor installed on the concrete sub-floor, so there’s definitely nothing floating there.
Will have to give it a try without the slabs. But they are extremely heavy and difficult to move, as they are solid steel (30 mm).

I tried some pretty “serious” polished granite slabs on carpet, mainly because the concrete below was of not such great quality, but in the end the Naim SL2 likes to be “anchored” to a solid floor with a solid wall behind it. I still have the slabs but never used them again. Get some Naim chips for your parquet floor protection.
They already sit on Naim Fraimchips.
All have to do is remove the slabs, but steel is way more heavy than granite.

Ah ok I see them in the picture. See what you make of them without the slabs
A few upgrades to report, the LS50 Metas were proving a little harsh, fantastic monitors but just not quite musical enough for me so after talking to my good friend at Audio T Oxford I have settled on the Evoke 20’s along with a CD Transport upgrade from CDT6000 to CDT9000. I am so pleased with the result and even this early it is really sounding nice. Some pics of the before and after…
Please try out the Nova, let us know your thoughts
Love Dynaudio Evoke’s😊
Ah, the little Crimson Elektrik’s. Lovely amplifiers.

Hi @DanielH
How are you getting on with the C7s
I am home demoing the P3 at the moment and quite like what they do. In the studio on Saturday whilst picking them up, I had a quick demo of both and it was quick. The C7 showed more details than it’s smaller brother and may try these out as well later in the year
Change in the cabin amp gave me a chance to see if MC offers any benefits so moved the RP6 into cabin alongside the P3.
Interesting comparison but showed the P3 and At 540 ML is a cracking comparison and whilst re Ania fronted Rp6 had some more sophistication it lost out in energy and drive.
Not drawing any conclusions at the cart level as the Rp6 and Ania via the Aria into my SN3 doesn’t lack for any energy. More that the Technics would really need a separate phono stage to justify MC.
Biggest conclusion is that the P3 into the Technics sounds pretty damn good with the At on the front line duties.
What about the cats
