Hi
I recently moved on from the C7s. As good as they are, I found that the Sonus Faber Minima Amator II were even better.
The midrange on the SF is just as good as on the Harbeths. Everything else is better. I am very happy with them!
Is it a big or not that big upgrade vs your past Proac tablette signature?
I do like Sonus Faber. I heard some Amatis anniversario in a CDS3, 552, 300 system. I know a dealer in Karlsruhe that stock them. Letās see

BIG! I do feel I did every upgrade in the right order though. Source, pre, power, speakers.
The Titan 505 have definitely improved over the last 3 months and are now consistently excellent across the frequency spectrum. Their scale and realism out does the Tab 10 Sig by some margin. Iād say they have balanced my system perfectly now.

They taste like chickenā¦
Audiovector SR3 raw surface limited edition?
Pleased to see fellow Audiovector owners. I think they are great speakers. I have the Signature SR3s and had planned to have them upgraded to Arette earlier in the year but the change is now to R3 which is very expensive! More saving needed.
Yes,very nice speakers and big soundstageā¦enjoy every minute.
Theres only made 100 pair of this R3 RAW .But if you find some second hand please buy asap.
Chicken?
I can se you have AV 6 .I belive that the R3 Raw version have componts, tweter speakers and crossover from AV6. Sound on steroidsā¦
The common refrain for āunconventionalā meat products.
Indeed, those are R6 avantgardeš and I used to have a SR3 AA as well, great speakers too!
What are your thoughts, on what I am assuming is a Rigid Rack?
I actually love the rigidrack. Itās a very nice build, solid, easy to place, move and install. If you can get the size you want, they will do custom sizes also by request, and the finish, itās an excellent product and price. The only thing I would like is adjustable shelves but that option doesnāt fit their build model. One more thing, I think the shelves are good for 500 lbs each. That should tell you something.
It certainly tells you that they can take a lot of weight, but little else. It means nothing in terms of sonic performance.
I know this is the opposite end of what we normally post about, but I did need to replace my old personal CD player of 26 years and I was interested in how the technology might have developed in the interim.
As I said previously the current manufacturers are not the big name audio producersā¦and after a bit of looking around I plumped for this one.
It has been an interesting process - if the player was badged with Sony or Panasonic etc I would have been much less cautious in buying it ā interesting prejudice - not helped by general inability to actually look at and touch a product before buyingā¦
There are a few different products out there, but this seemed in many ways the simplest and sleekest looking.
How does it compare to my 26 year old Panasonic?
Pros:
It has internal rechargeable batteries, so no fiddling around with batteries.
It is charged via a USB C cable, so can be charged pretty much anywhere and can be charged up while playing discs.
It has an off switch rather than going to standby to save battery charge. Iāve not tested charge life yet, but had no problems so far.
It has an SD card slot for MP3 files (up to 32BG) ā Iām not likely to use this but who knowsā¦
It has 4 non slip feet so stays put when on a smooth surface.
Sound wise, the Klim is a huge improvement on the Panasonic.
The amplifier section can drive my 250ohm Beyerdynamic headphones with ease, usually at around 10 ā 13 whereas the Panasonic was at max (20) and still quiet.
There is a surprising level of detail the Panasonic does not match, so I am listening anew to the music.
Negative:
No digital out via the C cable for external DAC.
I could have got it cheaper second hand on auction sites, but it comes with a 5 year warranty which given I was uncertain about the quality of the product was a big plus. It is not an expensive product.
how are the dt990 proās? im considering a pair to give a different flavour to my sennheiser 660s
