System Pics 2023

Thanks Tim, we had a change of colour from reds to mustard and grey’s. More of a country feel

Thanks

PB, from the pics I assume your XPS(T) is of the new (now old) triptych styling. Is that so? Was that converted to DR spec too? Just wondering in case I can persuade Naim to convert an XPS to XPS(T) for me, although I suspect the days of that sort of flexibility and support might be consigned to history.

Yes Clive, the XPS-t is in a matching box to the 555 PSU, 552 PSU and 500PSU. Hence they all match.

FWIW, I don’t think Naim are prepared to make any more XPS -t’s. Hence there will only ever be six of them.

Oh dear, that’s a pity. I suppose I’ll have to slum it with my PST. I didn’t realise that only six were made. That’s some rarity you have there.

FWIW, the majority went Stateside.

p.s. Looks great PB - three Fraim stacks is where it’s at!

Slight change - old NDX out and new ND5SX2 in.

New gear here….not Naim though !…Nova & CD 5 gone.
In with Accuphase 380 Amp and 450 CD.
Just running in at present…sounding mighty fine …then time to play with interconnects and power leads !..more expense!

I did see one (with NAT-01) advertised on eBay a few years ago. I think that was an olive enclosure IIRC. I should have jumped at the opportunity then.

Is the ND5SX2 a worthwhile improvement over the NDX?
If so, could you try to outline the differences
Thanks

NDX had a failed screen - totally blank. It couldn’t stream Qobuz without using MConnect or similar and in this guise Qobuz sounded no better than Spotify. However Spotify sounded very good and now sounds even better, clearer and more natural. I just need to sort out a new Qobuz subscription and then I will see if Hi-Res streaming is all it’s cracked up to be. NDX radio was not Hi-Res so that is much improved.

No changes for the moment.
The Pioneer tuner is vintage, and I Don’t use it anymore, but it’s a fond memory…

Yes……the Accuphase kit is rather good and gets flack for being rather slow and bloated. Might have been way back, but it is seriously good👍
