Audiolab 6000CDT replacing skipping CD5Si. Brand new, under £300 and a great sound through ND5XS2!
Another Piega owner, yepee
I was thinking of buying the 9000 CDT but in the end I may just move over 100% to streaming and rip all my CDs. It’s a shame that the ND5 XS2 is not possible to upgrade with an XPS2 like the ND5 XS. I wonder why that is not the case
Piega are so underrepresented ( is that a word?) in UK but the Premium 701s with their wonderful ribbon tweeter and extruded aluminium housing are superb.
It’s two words.
Not much changes in my second home system (yet…), but since my youngest daughter will get her own apartment soon and expressed a need for a “System” I got her a pair of Spendor classic 3/1 and a Moon ACE, I felt the need to compare the Spendors with my Harbeth 30.2 (sorry for long sentence).
Spendor cheaper and smaller. Harbeth a bit more bass and better slightly better tone. Spendor more drive and detail on modern material. Conclusion: the Harbeth stays but my daughter will be very happy!
Has also bought a Ramar Record brush. A must for pampered vinyl connoisseurs.
2 pcs Rel t5x or 2 Rel t7x .Best opgrade you can get in that fine
system
Love the sideboard
Two times Rel T5/x running off of two times HiCap DR’s are definitely under strong consideration at the moment.
One Rel T5/x is a minimum certainty, but conversations around the pair will be high on the agenda when Tony (Basically Sound) gets back from holiday.
Maybe a third HiCap DR for my wife’s system will see the job done barring Carts etc as necessary
Thank you. That and folding table are now 37 years old!!! Unlikely to ever get rid of them.
Glad it’s all worked out, Nigel. Lovely room too.
Enjoy your new system
Very nice Nigel.
Thank you James.
Lovely room and system.
As an aside is that your good self in the small mirror on picture 2?
Nice setup Nigel, the kit looks great on a black frame👍
Yes it was but if you look again you will see I have replaced that shot with my ugly mug no longer reflected.
I thought someone was hallucinating.
I was up and down “ Just Like That “ looking.
