It puts recent cable wars in perspective that’s for sure. Mana divided opinion like no other topic imho.
Murmuring was the biblical word associated with it.
Not to be confused with…
Those speakers look the dog’s!!!
Nice floor as well.
What is lovely is having a centre staging of sound again! The XS3 suffers from off centre sound as we know.
The Technics is sounding rather lovely now and settling in…oh dear!
Im.now using my ND5XS2 as a transport at the moment direct into the digital coax in of the Technics.
The CXC sounds particularly wonderful.
Wonder if son wants my XS3?
Just had a scan and seen it can be had (ok quoted at) at around 2.2K, the reviews in Stereophile were particularly favourable and started my interest few months ago, really like the look in silver too.
With the limited edition SL1210, the Cd player SLG700 the technics system starts to look pretty awesome. Their higher priced (circa 5K from memory) speakers similarly well reviewed.
Yes hate to shatter the illusion. Technics are making some real hi-fi lately. Like proper amps engineered within an inch of their life. As long as you like VU meters and direct drive.
Got a softspot for a VU meter, even though I’ve never owned one, see Audiolab have this as an option on their new 9000 range of amps.
Adam, I think the Audiolab can display VU meters on the screen, bit like the NAD models.
Not real meters with needles etc.
No you are 100% correct, just more a nod of their appeal, be really interested to see what you think of the amp with extended listening. I’ve got absolutely no need for it, but that isn’t the same thing of trying to think of a way to deploy one.
Most likely candidate would be in the cabin, but I’ve got my much loved Densen gear in there.
Just looks like a potential future classic and I missed out on a Pioneer A400 back in the day and that’s an itch that never got scratched.
I don’t think I will get extended listening after the weekend as it will be boxed up for my son to collect! Damn.
Hide out of sight and ignore the door.
Perfect - like the speakers… goggled them… wow… this is premium!
They fit in nicely Graeme. I hope you enjoy them
How close to the back wall do you have your 505s.
