Around 20cm to the back plate from a solid wall. If you read the customer reviews on the Kudos site you’ll see a few comments about siting.
Knowing my rather exacting specs of where I could place mine, they reassured me the 505 is worth trying.

Stunning room Graeme and a lovely system.
Out of interest, do you primarily listen to the system in the Eames lounger? I ask because it does not seem to be aligned to a “traditional position” (ie. More or less centred between the two speakers).
I also have an Eames lounger and it is my favoured listening place, but it is a fair bit offset from the traditional position too (although not as much as yours). Although my system does still sound pretty good to me!
Anyway, just wondered.

I ordered a Z3, but it did not work in my room. My excellent dealer managed to get me an upgrade. The veneer is not perfect, so I got this one significantly reduced. Not perfect means: I do not notice a problem at all.

what about the Z3 didn’t work in your room?
No, the Eames was a present for my wife. I sit dead centre on the sofa in the very very ‘sweet spot’.

I’ve only had a chance for a few short bursts of a couple of albums and a bit of internet radio since they were installed yesterday early evening.
I listened to a bit of ‘Kenny Burrell Live at the Vanguard’ for 20mins tonight and it sounded gorgeous. A clear uplift over last night when they were just out of the box and the 300DR had been powered off for 24h - but even then they sounded great!
Next few days I’ll get a chance for an extended listen.
They had a previous owner for one month.

haven’t heard them but no doubt in my mind they are exceptional just much more limited in terms of placement than the 505s.
Thought I’d post a few pics of my system this year. Picked up a bargain CDS2 and was expecting an Olive XPS to come through with it. I got a black one instead which I think could be a good thing! Good job my system is mix of black, olive and Chrome bumper. Maybe an NSC222 would give it a nice mix. System sounding lovely with CDS2 just set up today.
