Made a further change to living-room system no. 2. With the two Cyrus 8 power amps working in mono mode, the balance was noticeably balanced to the right. So, I removed one of the amps, changed the remaining one to stereo mode and connected the PSX-R power supply, and the balance is now fine.
Now that the second PSX-R has arrived, I’ve reintroduced the second Cyrus 8, so each is running in mono mode with its own power supply. The balance seems fine.
Do the heat sinks get warm to the touch? The new NAP250 has a centrally mounted fan too, so I wonder if the heat sinks are really functional or just cosmetic.
I have been running for a hour this morning, at a volume level of 20. I cannot feel any noticeable heat from the heatsinks. If I had to describe it, I guess tepid would be the best description
Can I ask for your advice, please?
Have you run your PMC speakers in yet? If so, did it take the full fifty hours?
The reason I ask, is currently running in, besides Naim units and KS-1 speaker cable, PMC Twenty5 23i speakers. Some tracks the speakers sound fully run in with very spacious and detail sound. However, the next can sound compressed. I cannot remember this when running in the Twenty5 23’s. As you have the latest Twenty5 range, and have have experience of PMC, I was hoping you might have some input. Thank you.
