System Pics 2023

I find a soft paint brush, 1 inch or so, gets in to those awkward places.

I use makeup brushes on my guitars - they are super soft and would also work well.

Hard to get all that glitter off the brush first?

Thanks - impressive

My brand new speakers: Sonus Faber Minima Amator 2. They replaced a pair of Harbeth C7es3-XD.

Thank you.

Interesting update. Congratulations and enjoy listening. The Minima Amator IIs are not so common in the forum. How do they compare to the Harbeth?

Nice. What’s wrong with the Harbeth C7ES3 XD? I think you had them for less than a year.

Thanks. Nothing wrong with the Harbeths I had for 2 years. See my post above.

Thank you!

The SFs have as magical a midrange as the Harbeths. The top end of the SFs is noticeably more airy and detailed than the Harbeths. Its bass is just as low, but tighter and more textured. The imaging and soundstaging of the SFs is much better.

The music never really leaves the plane of the Harbeths. Whereas the soundstage of the SFs is higher, lower and wider than the speakers.

The SFs give me more in a smaller and more attractive package.

Congratulations, these are lovely speakers both in terms of the sound and build quality. I came very close to buying a pair, but ended up with Spendor 3/1, which worked slightly better for me.
Though no doubt I would have been very pleased with these and I can fully understand why you would buy a pair and as mentioned, these are rarely seen, which is a shame.

Good album. A good one for testing the bass response.

This is a cracking collection of songs to put your system to the test - if only all music was this well recorded….

DanielH, Congratulations! Very curious about these speakers. Do you like them so far? What are the source and amplification? Do you have experience with other SF? Specifically interested in such as Cremona Auditor and Signum.

A low-end hi-fi set up for your amusement (it’s not my main/only one). The speakers are very old Linn Saras (with cannon sockets). The CD player is a Roksan Blak. The Naim amplifier is a 32-5/140 pre-power. In addition to input from the Roksan Blak it also takes an input from the tape output of a Naim 82-5 + Hi-Cap in another room. The 32-5 has recently been serviced. The whole thing sounds wonderful, even though the speakers are eccentrically placed. love and hugs to all, Stevie xx
