System Pics 2024

I don’t want to disappoint anyone for sure but ac electricity doesn’t run along the cable - any conductor is just a minimum impedance path through space and time

True but my point is still valid, how is the electricity different out of the socket compared to what is fed to the property.

If our supplier of electricity has cables that are decades old running to your door what is the super sophisticated power block or power lead doing to that supply to make a difference. This is what I don’t understand.

HF noise level can be different for instance

Surely the electricity isn’t any different ( apart from losses), the additional noise is.

Thanks for the info, one more question, how well do they do with imaging? With my current speakers, Audio Physic Scorpio’s, they have pin point imaging which is something I’d like to keep. The issue with them is, this is partly achieved with how they like to be setup, which is rather extreme tow in (speakers ~20% wider vs listening position & aimed directly at the listener), which while is great for imaging, it makes an extremely small sweet spot.

Lots of threads on here debating cables, we don’t need to do it in the system pics thread. I’d suggest visiting a good dealer that will lone cables/allows home demos. Give some a try & see what you find.

How?

This is what I cannot get my head round, what has been done to the electricity after it arrived at the property’s mains board or what ever you want to call it.

In simplistic terms (that’s about as much as I can comprehend) let’s assume that our trained electrician connects up the feed from the supplier to your mains board and turns the power on and the house is now live, how is the electricity coming out of the socket different in the house to that which arrived at the house?

I really should have paid more attention at school.

Yes, good point well raised.

I use balanced transformer for example powering not the system itself but Playstation & tv. Filters on the pc and fridge also help. Power lines are unshielded and prevent that travelling to the system partly. Etc.

It’s the reason why I use a 4 km Naim powerline power cable from the Nuclear plant to my house.
Hopefully my dealer made me a good offer.

I heard the Sigao into 505 with 222, 2x250 new classic at Bristol HiFi Show. One of the top 5 sounding rooms easily.

Lovely looking pair of Isobariks. Here are my Sara’s, another user here of classic Linn Speakers.

Love Sara’s, the speaker I owned for the longest period of time of any speaker in my “hifi” life

Unfortunately Ive run out of walls in my listening space .

So you’re saying your fancy nuclear generated electricity sounds better than the low-grade fossil-fuel derived stuff I get in my house?

Dammit, I may have to move.
