I’m referring to the LED bulbs commonly sold as replacements for obsolete tungsten lightbulbs:
Many of these are electrically noisy, but I did find some that weren’t, and chose them when replacing old bulbs and CFLs a few years ago.

Ahh. Though that isn’t really a filament either. It’s a row of LEDs arranged to look like one. But yes, the transformers in these are pretty nasty, especially the ones that aupport dimmer switches. Best to simply have lighting on isolated circuits entirely. Which on nearly every new build probably will be.
Getting old. Moving and cleaning is becoming more difficult. My mission was to simplify without losing the quality of sound I’ve become used to.

Mission accomplished. Sound is even better.
I think you’ve had a tractor in your living room
Nice simpler system, looking neat and tidy.
Can I just suggest using some cable trunking along the top of the skirting board for the speaker cables, rather than the clips.
Will just finish it off.
DG…
that’s a great idea. i’ll check into it. thanks.
I found a way to negate the radiator heat issue next to the curtain whilst going back to the totally superior three FRAIM set up. I was getting some static with krad2 under my LP12 when playing vinyl. Now moved below ND555 I have an uncanny quiet background when playing vinyl. SL2’s sounding superb with active 500’s etc.
How do you find the quad monos ??
Hey Archie,
Well it’s very early days as I only got them set up yesterday to have a view on SQ but are built like little tanks and appear to like the Linton’s - to me they need an amplifier with some grunt to show what they can really do.
That said all the other kit is new too so hard to focus in on one item but I’m certainly enjoying what I’m hearing and do think they provide v good value.
One of the alternative systems, for me, was the Kef LS60’s but were a bit clinical compared to this combination - as ever it all comes down to personal taste. I was sure going active would be my preferred option but apparently not.
Anyway hope you are still enjoying yours.

May I showcase my old hi-fi setup here? In early 2020, as the pandemic shifted my life to working from home, this was my desktop setup. It featured all the hi-fi gear I had at the time (not much at all) in an empty room where I spent several months in solitude. This setup not only supported my work but also provided a comforting routine during those unprecedented times.
Looks quorate!
