They obviously don’t get it right all the time and tbh it really doesn’t matter to the average punter. There’s lots of “person of the year” in communities all round the world doing great work that never get a mention.
So true, Pete. They seem to have a particular penchant for dictators on their year honours list.
Yes I wonder what their criteria is it’s certainly not the same as mine
Maybe depends on the year.
I don’t think anyone would want to be the person of the year 2020.
We could vote for ourselves who should fill the gaps perhaps.
Great idea start a thread “you’re person of the year”.
Yeah nah.
Are you an Aussies.
Yeah nah. Nah nah yeah ? You know what I mean yeah nah ?
Should be the person of the year. Maybe next year.
Despite having a preconceived opinion I kept an open mind and went through her entire discography desperately searching for something to add to my music repertoire. As much as I tried I came up completely empty handed. Just for the record I have 4 Justin Bieber tracks in my 20,000 track collection.
I also streamed the Eras Tour movie for my neighbor’s 9 year old daughter who we were minding. While she seemed to enjoy it, my girlfriend and I couldn’t wait for it to end. Halfway through I cracked and convinced my tiny guest to wear the headphones instead of blasting it through the speakers. Yes the production values were top notch but, to me, the music was an empty shell. Buy hey, to each his/her own.
I can understand why many would like it but it’s just a tad too ‘‘middle of the road’’ for my tastes.
so true Tony, especially in 2008 and 2012
but Time got it right with a superb person in 2016 for once
My daughter took over my Spotify account this year and played Taylor Swift music all day, every day. It isn’t all to my taste, but there are a few good tracks in her repertoire.
Like it matters what I think!!!
Yeah right.
And I thought the Justin Bieber comment was peak nonsense in the thread. Wow, someone lost at life.
I don’t own, or listen to, any of Taylor Swifts music, but that doesn’t prevent me from knowing that she is an incredibly brilliant and insightful, singer/songwriter/performer/business manager. And to do what she has done in a male dominated industry, or any industry for that matter, tells me she’s extremely talented.
Talent that some here must be jealous of … well that’s the only explanation I can think of.
Give credit where credit is due, FFS …
I started listening to Taylor Swift this year, after hearing Exile with Bon Iver (Folklore album) - much to the amusement of my sons…
I think its a great track… The rest of the album is growing on me… One thing for sure, she’s a very talented lady…
