Well, I gave her an honest chance and she totally blew it. ![]()
Oooooeerr Missus! ![]()
Never ever heard any of her music and have no intention to !
Don’t give up just yet. Try Champagne Problems, late at night when it’s time to unwind.
She is the worst celebrity offenders when it comes to CO2 emissions from her private planes.
Meh…thanks, but really not my thing. I was only curious what makes her a billionaire. The music I heard didn’t come even close to compel me to did deeper.
To answer that question, you would have to attend one of her concerts. I went to the Kansas City with my 28 year old daughter. It was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before, in a good way. But, you and I are not the target audience. But hey, give her 5 more minutes. You might be surprised.
But it still would stack up against the amount of smoke Kieth Richards’ has blown into the air.
Absolutely brilliant!

Started watching today the ERAS Tour on Disney +.
I’m going to do it in stages as it’s 3.5 hours long, but for my money, and I do appreciate her music, it’s a stunning production. You can see where the money is spent and she is just incredible. Her performance is assured and pich perfect.
I’m delighted to see it on the small screen, but can imagine what it would be like to be there, if I could have got tickets.
However, tonight I am attending John Smiths album launch at Cooper Hall, Frome…a mere 100 people.
Polar opposite’s.
My eldest daughter got to see her in Sydney a few weeks ago and is still talking about it. She also saw Pink last night.
I’d like to see P!nk as well.
Have been to see her on this tour and I can see the irritation she must cause. Singer songwriters want to be adored as much as anyone else but she has all the bases covered. Great songs which cannot be disguised by the accompanying glitz. She has essentially captured multiple demographics in a manner most would think impossible. This kind of expensive and elaborate staging tends to belong to artists who sing other peoples songs. Showbiz puppets if you don’t like that sort of thing. Great interpreters if you do. Music for kids if you don’t like it. Great entertainment if you do.
What none of it disguises is that dud is a great songwriter. No songwriter is everyone’s cup of tea but great songs are great songs and she’s undeniable in that respect. To have captured the teen market; young adults and the likes of me is not an achievement easily dismissed. If it was just budgets and marketing then fair enough, and a superficial glance might suggest it is, but there’s much more going on here.
Plus the last 5 years have seen these releases;
7. Lover (2019)
8. Folklore (2020)
9. Evermore (2020)
10. Fearless (Taylor’s Version) (2021)
11. Red (Taylor’s Version) (2021)
12. Midnights (2022)
And soon to be 13. Tortured poets department in a month.
That’s 5 albums plus 2 re-recorded.
Like most Dads, my exposure to Taylor has been based on listening to daughter’s choice in the car, wife’s (expensive) vinyl purchases, taxi service to shows and being deployed to purchase tickets for Wembley in the summer (3 sets! Greedy!)
I’ve just watched the latest (extra tracks) version of The Eras Tour with family. Hats off to Taylor - what a show. ‘All Too Well’ was particularly excellent. Great production, tight performance and it is great to see so many people genuinely happy to be there. Most impressive for me was the positivity and the efforts to challenge stereotypes. Very positive lyrics, variety of dancers and an indefinable sense a young woman exercising real power. Very inspiring.
She is a talented songwriter, musician and performer. She fully deserves the acclaim that comes her way.
I bought some of her music to see what the fuss was all about, and she has real talent - streets ahead of any Forum member that I know of.
Mind you, she’s wealthy enough already not to give a fig what any of us might think of her!
New album “tortured poets department” released today.
She’s been busy.
“It’s a 2am surprise: The Tortured Poets Department is a secret DOUBLE album.
I’d written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here’s the second installment of TTPD: The Anthology. 15 extra songs. And now the story isn’t mine anymore… it’s all yours.
