I feel I have become naim equipment.
So you have officially became a stalker.
A man needs a hobby.

You have pulled the trigger …
I feel this thread will see a lot of DCS terms in a quick time, then popcorn, then chickens fights, then closed thread.
Will it last more than 24 hours, hum hum….
Why?
Plenty of Naim in my house, having tried other brands it’s a sound I love but of course each to their own.
Enjoy your Linn and the music room is the place to hang as ultimately that’s what it’s all about.

It’s not the lack of Naim that’s the issue, it’s the - IMO of course - inappropriate misuse of our host’s hospitality in commonly denigrating Naim…
I have never denigrated Naim equipment.
What I have criticised is THE corporate Naim and how it is managed, their woeful communication as adequately demonstrated through the recent FW debacle.
If you don’t like my posts; don’t read them, flag them, read and ignore them, block them.
However, if you respond to them, I will reply to you.

@DiggyGun wishing you the best at this difficult time. If it helps, here’s a photo of a HiCap.
I’m with @Farthings-cat - hope you’re enjoying your music, I’m sure you are! ![]()
I think it shows the strength of the brand that people choose to stay around and contribute.
I used to have two OC HiCaps, but must admit that the CB HiCaps do look nicer, but didn’t know that they had a Red LED.
What is the rotary knob for?

I have no such love of Naim that I would never imagine not having it. But of course I do like Naim, and they’ve cleverly tied in me in to their ecosystem with the Mu-so’s and Qb’s.
When thinking (dreaming, its not in the cards atm) about a future system, all kinds of power amps etc. are being considered, but the streamer or streaming pre will have to be really good to not be from Naim (or the Naim really bad, which I wouldn’t expect).
Turning it on/off ![]()
Despite all three CB units being within a few hundred of the same serial number, my NAP 110 has a green LED, and NAC42.5 a red one!
My nine Naim Black Boxes were part exchanged when I got the Linn Selekt DSM; Edition Hub.
I made up some new mains cables using MS HD Power silver plated UK plugs and IEC connectors with some Supra Lo Rad cable.
Used it on the second system and it sounded better, so sold the Naim PowerLine Lite to a mate, who wanted to upgrade his old standard Naim mains cable.

Back in the day the preamps had red lights and the power amps green. My first Naim setup was 42 (red), Snaps (red) and 110 (green).
Once LEDs became availablento replace neon or filament bulbs, at first all were red - simply because that was the only colour then available. In due course green was developed (also yellow and orange - blue a good few years later, and white later still). Then came - possibly from EU - the argument that red should not be used, at least not for normal on state, because it means danger. Naim’s change most likely reflected that.
