The Dearth of Naim

Hi All,

Apologies for the painful tedium being felt. First a bit of background…

The 5 (five) reasons I am practicing with a loan CI-102.

  1. I may want to put a system in the study where there is presently no music (I have been loaned some ‘small’ loudspeakers as well).

  2. Some people (OP and others) seem to be flocking towards other brands for one box streaming source/pre or even one box everything - I want to help correct some of the drift by providing some ‘early adopter’ observations of this exciting new Naim product series.

  3. Personally, I have already got a really good understanding of Linn SO, like what it does, and want to find out the approach Naim are taking to Room EQ.

  4. Presently I have my sub integrated without adjusting the crossover point of the feed to the M2s - each loudspeaker or sub receives the same net L or R signal. Using Naim CI-102 as source would allow me to adjust the main/sub crossover point more freely.

  5. Finally, my sub has a Dante interface option (as does Naim CI-102) and I wanted to explore this (licenced) technology.

FYI: I am tackling this list from the top.

Background to the project over - sound report coming with next posting.
