Mainly Norfolk has discography. She sang with Sweeney’s Men, Bert Jansch and others.

And reputedly the inspiration for Sandy Denny’s ‘The Pond and the Stream’ Fotheringay.

‘The Doffing Mistress’ is on this one recorded 1963 for The Iron Muse. A surprise to me that it was recorded so early. Apparently it came from Ulster linen workers, rather than Lancashire as I’d assumed.

Well… Myrkur… interesting…

CD’s not expensive on eBay - but are, on Discogs… :open_mouth:

If you like this version (*) of Myrkur, then have a look/listen at Eivor… (**)

(* - Myrkur is a solo black metal project by Danish singer Amalie Bruun - !!!)

(**- Or… just watch some of The Last Kingdom, which is very good in itself, but also has quite a lot of Eivor’s music in it…)

Myrkur - Warning - !!! The Album Folksange IS Folk…
But… the rest of Myrkur is not… :open_mouth:

The following YouTube video may be shocking to anyone expecting ‘Folk’…

PS. But… some may like both… I think I do…!!!

So thank you - @Camphuw & @Stokie

Apologies for not providing you with the warning!
I had tried to include the Roon splurge but failed.

I now realise that she had something to do with Ragnarok (which I did enjoy).

Not a Problem for Me…!!!

Cellar Darling and Eivor are in the same sort of zone, for me - and I like both of them…!!

But - for those checking out the Folk Thread, some might be a bit ‘shocked’ by Myrkur’s more usual output - Folkesange being a clear exception.

I am now debating with myself which of Myrkur’s CD’s to buy first… !!
(it will not be Folkesange…)

PS. Thank you for a great ‘find’… :slightly_smiling_face:

Myrkur - full on folk - SFF (Safe For Folkies)…!!

OK… @Camphuw - no more…!!

That’s a great music find (Myrkur) AND a very interesting TV series (Ragnarok)…

I have just read on BBC News that John Martyn’s guitars and echoplex are being auctioned. I doubt if anyone else will play them as well as him.
