Smashed peas again !!!
Temperature spikes from Chemo are life threatening, so you do need to be careful here. Iām sure youāve been given the lecture
Just was told that by a small group doctors and trainees, I could be there till my white blood cells rebuild which isnāt until after the 10th.
Youāre going to have to suck it up Iām afraid, but it will pass.
Jeez Pete, so much sh*t youāre enduring. Feck me ā¦
I seem to be having the opposite going on. I have high blood plateletes, but it doesnāt seem to be doing much so far. But my last blood test showed high white blood cells. I wish I could give you some.
I have an appointment with the blood specialist again in October, so weāll see.
Maybe this is just the '70s catching up with me ā¦
I think our past is catching up with all of us, Iāve been prodded, poked and punctured since around 9am morning. It looks like they wonāt let me out until they know what caused the temperature spike.
Have you been diagnosed with anything yet?
All things must pass.
Hope not for your sanity, take care.
Gazza thatās assuming I was sane to begin with.
And always the traffic, always the lights
Joe played the cello through those
Darlinghurst Nights
Itās on my list, pretty much up the top. Thanks Iāll play later to mask the noise from the old folks ward across the hall.
I will forever associate that song with you Pete.
I hope to be around for a long time to continue to enjoy it.
I am sure you will.
Iām being transferred to a larger hospital by ambulance tomorrow for some tests and scans they still seemed a little concerned. If all ok theyāll bring me back for observation for 48 hours before letting me go home.
Struth mate, what a bummer.
I know Iāve had a pretty depressing afternoon touching on conversations I wasnāt expecting. But onward and upward.
If taking you to bigger hospital means better/different diagnostic equipment and expertise that is a good thing, even if the hospital may be more impersonal. Just to lighten your mood you could ask the ambulance crew to put on the blue lights snd siren rather than just drive thereā¦
My thoughts remain with you.
This is not where we all hoped you would be this week.
Letās hope that the Scans and tests find nothing sinister and youāre home by Friday
Take care mate and trust in the doctors. Theyāve done great so far.
Youāll be right mateā¦

Going to Newcastle Pete ?
