David, will be interesting on what our thoughts are on the new models.
I switched to Apple some four or so years ago as a recommendation from my local Naim dealer the reason being that I was experiencing problems with my Core and NDX and as I could purchase an Ipad with a 14 days no quibble returns policy from the Apple store in Bath it was a no brainer.
The IOS App completely solved the problem and this was confirmed by Naim and a Android update some time later solved the issue but by that time I had moved on.
Not long after purchasing my first IPad I was so impressed with the Apple set up that I changed my Windows 10 computer for a iMac 21.5 4k and to be honest one of the best upgrades I ever done in my life this was shortly followed by a new IPhone.
After couple of years with my my original Ipad I was offered a good price for it by a family member so purchased the new 11 inch pro and the same family member has offered a fair price for this one hence the upgrade.
Might look at updating the iMac later this year ??
Being a numptyā¦ā¦i was in an apple store in the U.S whilst wife and daughter were shopping for clothes. They had a whole line of Imacs along one wall, which i tried out. After a while i started to open the cupboards below the screens to try and find out how large the computer bit wasā¦ā¦An Apple store person soon arrived to ask what i was doing, and explained it was all in with the screen. That sold it for meā¦ā¦though i was rather embarrassed.
Reading that made me feel better, I once got the gas company out to check our pool heater only to be told by the guy that it was electric. It cost me $180 for the call out chargeš
Still might be worth having repair estimated (unless you have insurance). My son got himself a new iPhone a few years ago (I always have his cast-offs), also buying Apple Care
twice has had a new phone out of them as a result of some mishap, each close to the end of the insurance period, getting a brand new phone and extended Apple Careā¦
Otherwise if you were travelling (fat chance I know), there are places in Shenzhen in China (and no doubt other places) that would fix just about everything for very few 10s of Ā£, doing it while you wait!
I started my motor apprenticship in 1970 at small country garage a few miles from Bath and at the time they had three petrol pumps Regular,Super and Supreme the owner decided to upgrade and have a new larger tank installed with a blender type pump he also decided to freshen up the small shop and install a new fangled electronic till that was compatible with the new VAT tax levels that were coming in.
All installed and the engineer set the till up ready for the day VAT started.
The big day of the VAT arrived but the owner and his sons could not get the till to work so they called the engineer who travelled some eighty miles to attend he came into the shop looked at the till and switched on the wall socket the engineer never said a word to anybody but walked out muttering a few choice words under his breath!!
Iām selling some loudspeakers online. Iāve made the mistake to not specify a minimum price. Now I get low ballers offering 1/3 of the expected price willing to collect immediately.
Terribly annoying. I think I pull the add and offer the loudspeakers for trade in on my next purchase.
@Richard.Dane why do I keep moving from member to regular, donāt think Iāve been in the naughty corner for awhile now. Itās a bit hard to understand how the system works.
