You have to be quick David.
Had a chance to get up close and personal to the second most deadliest snake on the planet, an eastern brown.
A snake catcher had caught him earlier just out of town his now on his way to parks and wildlife to used in their education days.
Looks fairly innocuous at first sightš„ŗ
Google him, but he was quiet and made no attempt to bite the guy with him. Think they do put them in cool quite place like an esky. Theyāre usually rather aggressive.
I didā¦ā¦.pretty fatalš„ŗ
Yeah, I wouldnāt be standing close enough for a photo
Still looks too close to me Pete!
Way too closeš¤š½
If that goes up your trouser legā¦ a mile away would be too close for me.
Too right Peteās Budgie smugglers are no protectionš
Absolutely beautiful creatureā¦ Very similar looking to our mambaās. I have a very healthy respect for these creatures and even more so for the wranglers. See below for referenceā¦
Brothers (ā¦or Sisters) from another mother.
Deadly but very special creatures.
You Aussies always say youāve never seen a snake. Our last visit (6 weeks in Victoria & Tassie) we saw the eastern brown, a copper something and a red bellied black. Worst of all was a massive Tiger Snake that was crossing the road on the brow of a hill, I didnāt see it until too late and both sets of wheels went over it ā¦ babump babump. Looking in the mirror I watched it raise its head looking directly at me ā¦ shudder.
Where we live I see them regularly mainly the red belly and diamond python. The red belly although venous isnāt aggressive and the poison isnāt deadly.
Locals have mixed feelings about brown and black snakes, working on the land thereās always a chance youāll run into one.
Think the mambasā the most dangerous, but I agree spectacular species. Theyāre investigating its venom for a cure for all sorts of things.
Yeah, for sure, Pete, and as @budmoto was also saying, I find snakes to be quite beautiful. But for people that need to tend the fields, I can imagine they would be a real nuisance.
Our middle daughter and I always wanted a pet Ball Python. Weād go to the local pet shop and take turns letting the 3-4 foot Ball Python they had, wrap itself around our arm. They can be very friendly. But my wife wasnāt having any lf it, so we never got one.
Probably just as well ā¦
Yeah ā¦ not my strong suit.
Got a friend over from the UK (Brighton) staying for a few days and sheās complaining itās too hot, itās only 27c. Sheās an expat who moved to England 30 years ago with her husband, sheās obviously got way too soft.
Jeez ā¦ 27 degrees is the sweet spot.
