The Naim New Classic range - Part 1

Take your point on the distributor- very weird on what’s going on

Slovenia is.

Interesting wine analogies. So are people saying the new kit sounds leaner and less warm? If so I am a bit confused because my listening at home revealed the opposite. I found the 282 to be more detailed and less warm than the 222 with 300. I know we all hear differently but that is a major reversal!

I think it is early days re comparison of sound characteristics between classic and new classic boxes. We’ll have a better perspective in 6 to 12 months once the initial mass hysteria/ excitement has damped down.

Be careful what you wish for parleeking! The HDMI ARC functionality on the rest of their product range is a total utter dumpster fire and doesn’t work with any TV’s not branded Samsung.

Given they can’t seem to get it right or fixed on any of the rest of their product range, it doesn’t surprise me in the slightest they decided not to include it in the new Classic range.

Such a shame :frowning:

are there a folks who doesn’t know that yet ? They are not even a neighbours - those two countries

If you read the thread, you will see plenty of references to Slovenia, although some of those may have been edited by now.

located in the middle Europe, close to Austria and Italy, used to be a part of Yugoslavia.

High-end turntable producer Kuzma audio, for example…

The performance will be heavily effected by choice of cables and other things like room etc.

At those prices I’d expect a room to be included!

Did you pay less for this component?

First confirmed sighting…? Of the Slovo-Naim…!!

So not made in. Only assembled. Naim ship parts from UK to only assemble boxes in Slovenia? Or parts made where?

As I posted earlier, Naim send a kit of parts (some of which are measured and selected at Salisbury as per normal) from Salisbury to the site in Slovakia. There the unit is assembled and then shipped back to Naim in the UK for final testing.

For anyone unfamiliar with Slovakia, a quick read through the Wikipedia page may provide a historical overview and some brief insights. The main industries appear to be cars (apparently VAG build the Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne and Lamborghini Urus there) and electronics.

Does it really matter where it’s made? Naim will be all over QC to avoid damaging the brand I would think

whats going on with those screws? I dont mind where things are built, i think one of the things naim pride themselves on is the person building it
