I had an audition and was blown away. A new NSP222 and NAP250 are now unboxed and waiting to be put into my Fraim Lite and wired up.
ā¦as should ATC.
Thinking about the Active SCM40ās, but in Cherry which will definitely not look anything like my White Evokes
Indeed!;playing yello loud from sn3 into scm 11 has cleared those thoughts here! Plus Iām not flush!
But Canon et al donāt put new camera models on their roadmap. E.g when introducing a new camera model with different sensor. Does your analogy still hold then?
Dig those Analogue Synth soundsā¦!!!
Tell me about your audition? What did you have/had before this setup as a comparison? What was the sound signature like? Iād really like to know what you thought this setupā¦ā¦TIA Rich
Iāve replaced a SuperUniti. My speakers are Dali Rubicon 6. The sound signature is more detailed with more vibrancy.
Wow, thatās a huge instant step up from a SuperUniti! Congratulations!
Are you saving for the NPX.
Hope youāre keeping the SU for a second system Still love ours for this purpose.
Pressed it into lounge service for a short period last year as a pre. We might be the only people on this forum whoāve heard NDX2/nDAC/555PSDR/SU/250DR
Thatsā¦ quite a jumpā¦!!
As I have said, several times - you cannot really go wrong with ANY NAP250ā¦!!!
Thanks for the feedback much appreciated! Rich
I showed this to SWMBO (not a fan of new look) and she said very nice, shouldnāt the screen icons be white like the NDX2!
No pleasing some people.
I had a listen to a 3 box setup this afternoon (NSC 222 + NAP 250 + 1x NPX 300). System was driving a pair of Dali Kore speakers.
The boxes look a lot nicer in the flesh, in a standard height Fraim shelf you hardly notice the middle ādipā, my main concern with that being itās perspex and will require care when cleaning or moving.
Sounded decent overall and was driving those massive 5 foot tall speakers with ease, fast and agile with plenty of grip.
Going back for some more listening soon, 2 box setup, NAP and PSU on other boxes, different speakers and so forth.
They donāt put new camera models in an exsisting system on a road map but many camera manufacturers will publish a road map of lenses, acessories etc so uou can see how the system is likely to progress. I have used this information to make informed choices around my purchases. All I can say is that the manufacturer that gave me this information got my business. Naim must have a road map and must know if future preamps and power supplys will be compatable. We donāt need to know exact details of what will be released but an indication of future compatabilty will relieve a lot of frustration and may keep future sales. This is not a lot to ask.
Probably best, eh?
After all, I really wouldnāt want you to have to shoot me, especially before I get to hear the 222/250 .

Youāre not in a bad position to sit tight and see what comes out. There were hints of a phonostage based on the solstice one up the thread a ways and implied further 300 series components.
Does Superlumina behave similarly?
Did you listen long enough to be able to form a view on how the new 3 box setup compares to your current system? Thanks
Iām going to go back and re-listen as a two
box setup with same/similar speakers to mine.
Hard to pinpoint where it sits relative to what I currently have, overall performs very well, the NAP 250 in particular is a very capable refresh.
So, at last, the old tactic of upgrading units without partners knowledge (because they all look more or less the same and they wonāt notice) has been put to bed!
Tougher job now people.
