The Naim New Classic Range - Part 2

Dear @Blackbird
Just wondering, what is your objective basis for recent comments?

Have you worked with either “marketing”, 'web teams" or indeed copy writing or technical sales?
Or is this just a personal opinion…
Not (necessarily) disagreeing. Just curious?

Even I know that amplifiers and headphones aren’t sources. It’s not just a bit poor, it’s a bit wrong. I’m not sure what its multiple functions might be; toaster, vacuum, microwave?

It doesn’t really celebrate a usp for Naim. It could be about any make.

15 years product development/manager working close to marketing/sales and such in the consumer audio market thinking every second about product values, unique selling point, markets, revenue yada yada.

From a company like Naim making such badass products with such attention to detail. The product deserve and can bring forward so much more. Even Chat GPT would do this better.

Fair enough…
In that case, I would be entirely interested in your thoughts on how to do better.
Not necessarily finished copy, more to do with thoughts on how to arrive at something?

Get Steve Sells in the same room. Done. There’s currently total lack of passion and love in the material. It could be about anything. It’s just laziness and lack of knowledge from the team writing it.

Sure
I got that point first time around, in the initial post.
Agreed, that particular person (and their contribution) has been really quite impressive here on this forum.

However, please can you expand?
For example, were you suggesting he write all the sales copy, brochures, web pages, press releases, etc, etc?

Edit : Okay, just seen your added (edit) comments. That promotes some further understanding.
Although, still curious how (maybe process) you would get to a better outcome?

I think it was James Dyson who said that when advertising a product you should always push the technical innovations. Seems to work well for him.

Perhaps someone who cares about this advertising thing might ask an AI to write the website copy for a NAC 332. It would be interesting to know which version, Naim’s PR company’s or the AI’s was more compelling.

Perhaps it is AI, either way it’s seriously poor

Limit internal noise? Doesn’t sound like it does much. How about Minimise internal noise? Or Practically eliminate internal noise?

Why should that be a qualification for recognising whether the advert is compelling or not? Someone buying a coffee table may never have made one in their lives, but could tell whether the table they are looking at is well made or not. I have never played a violin in my life, but can recognise whether one is being played well.

From a french chicken dealer website :

« With the new 300 series, consisting of the Nac 332 preamplifier, the NSC 333 streamer and the Nap 350 power units, Naim is making a sensational entry into the history of hifi.
The receding background noise, the musicality of staggering realism, a rhythm to give you muscle cramps and drown your shirts, will make every audio competitors on the planet pale.«

Well that’s me convinced :joy:

Designed for sales in Asia rather than Europe where air pollution is a severe problem and therefore more of a cultural concern.

In which case that might be an opinion. No qualification required at all. Which would be fine.

But the first question was the substantive question, which was “Just wondering, what is your objective basis for recent comments”.

Something about the post that implied some deeper knowledge. (Of writing decent sales copy). So I was curious. No more than that.

In fact, my real enquiry was to establish how the material might be better. I’m still waiting for further thoughts on that idea.

Although I might agree the copy could be better written, I’m also an advocate for positive suggestions for sustainable improvement too.

In technical sales, it’s usual to have a “subject matter expert”, such as Steve. The next challenge is to communicate all the key reasons why your target audience might consider the product and how it might be of benefit to them. In the “high end” audio trade, this maybe has a very limited objective. This only goes as far as stimulating an interest to go and see or hear the product.

I was rather hoping for a decent exchange on how these sort of things might be done, in an optimal way.

Hope that stimulates constructive debate.

Best wishes

The Nac 332 making it real. Naims latest preamplifier to date, an incredible piece of hardware and design combining elements of the thought after nac s1 with the innovative technologies of Naims dev team. Combining technologies has made the impossible possible and the results are nothing short of breathtaking. The volume control is a true piece of art as is the design of the case ingeniously realising enhancements in audio reproduction as well as timeless design. Yadayadayada.

Was at my dealer and listened to these setups today, guess which setup was the most musical/fun to listen to? Sometimes David wins against Goliath…

Amongst lots of other interesting items, noticed the new Epos ES14 N speakers

Very interested to hear your thoughts on those
