To be honest iā€™m not sure about the added value on discussing on website description. @110dB contributes a lot in this forum and he is the man behind naim products for years and he has all my respect. I will wait the audition and i will comment. Right now nac332 is on my radar web description wise

Nice could I maybe use 4 or 6 also. The posibilities are it seems more or less endless.

oh goshā€¦thanks for the feedback on the 300 series website everyone. I agree, thereā€™s some embarrassing sentences and ambiguity.

The Marketing team will roll out a phased approach to update the website. The first phase will be correcting errors only and we expect this to go live in a week.

The second phase will improve the narrative and give some more insight to the product features and engineering; date TBC.

Thanks for your understanding.
Steve

We really do appreciate you jumping in to answer questions if you didnā€™t know this already. Another reason why Iā€™ll spend my disposable income on Naim products as I know I can talk to the people that designed the products. Good old fashioned customer service!

Thing is the first copy that goes live is the most important one. Because all other pages, retailers etc will use it on their pages and if the source update later it will never be updated on other pages again. I have no idea how Naim work with copy but Iā€™m used to have a tight group of devs, product managers, marketing, sales sitting together making sure everyone agree that this is the story we want to tell, this is the tone of voice of the copy we want etc and that we feel all work spent is through marketing carried on to the potential buyers that in return engage them and make them understand why this new product have been brought to life. Itā€™s not we and them. Itā€™s us. Because when this separates this is the result that goes live.

If I go onto a Swedish page right now I read the same thing about 350 ā€œIt can be used alone or in combination with othersā€. Or " Thanks to the quiet cooling system it is easy to install in your chosen environment without sound interruption". I donā€™t even understand what they want to explainā€¦ Have we all got awful experience of LOUD fans in HIFI equipment or? Lost in bad translation from an already bad original copy.

Not even the retailers have time to think about what the product really is or what the copy says. I mean, for the 332 it says " tillĆ„ter rackinstallation." which in english translates to ā€œallows rack installationā€ which is actually what the copy says. I have no idea what they want to tell me with this. A rack installation is IMO something used in recording studios or in server rooms.

Iā€™m just bit disappointed since I know how much there is to talk about that is lost in the dark by some random copy person somewhere on the globe who doesnā€™t care at all about the product. The cost for making the copy glow is super low in comparison with the dev work spent. I can assure that 8h from Steve with a glas of red on those pages would make it 500% better. And correct.

Yes I agree @Blackbird the copy is awful and itā€™s beyond me that it has been aired at all. How could this have happened?

It was great that Steve acknowledged its a messā€¦ā€¦.not his job. But most of us on this forum could sort out the basic text in a few minutesā€¦ā€¦.marketing team will do in phasesā€¦ā€¦god help us.
It needs to be in somebodies job descriptionā€¦ā€¦.otherwise its always another persons problem.

When criticising itā€™s important to get your criticism right. Pots and kettles.

Whatever makes you happy Nigelā€¦ā€¦most on the forum would get the gist of my post.

I certainly did Gazza :+1:

ā€œPots and Kettlesā€ is not a sentence.

Discourse conventions vary according to context - a social media post is vastly different to a marketing blurb on a major manufacturersā€™ international website and doesnā€™t require equivalent levels of textual competence.
