Soldering Chord Rumour should be quite easy I think

That shouldnā€™t be too hard itā€™s just heavy cable like NacA5 that becomes very tricky.
Remember the pin orientation +&- are opposites.

Unless you have 135s :sunglasses:

Seriously though the trick with NAC A5 I find is to set the iron to 400C and make sure thereā€™s solder on the tip before touching the cable with it then keep it topped up as it runs through the strands. 5-10secs should do it. Also, I find tinning the cable first can make it impossible to get into the slots.

Yes, best not to tin NACA5 first. Form the strands so they fit inside the slots, heat the plugs and then solder using a very hot iron. You want it hot enough to heat the metal fast before the insulation begins to melt. Using a drilled plank and a strap to hold the cable in place leaves both hands free to do the best job.

Can anyone recommend any reasonably priced RCA to 5 pin DIN cables to go with the NN50?

Naimā€™s own lavender/grey interconnect. Brilliant.

And a bargain.

Are they cheaper than the Naim cable?

Do not know at all
but silver plated
I think the Naim interconnects are full copper

No worries. I was wondering about the reasonable priced vs the Naim. Thanks.

Youā€™ll only do it once :grinning:

Indeed. Sounds great. Amazing detail. Lovely tight sound. No overhang or bass boom, which suits me and my room. Very musical. Vocals crystal clear. Still running in both the NAIT50 and the new RCA to DIN interconnect but no complaints.

NAIT50 replaces an XS3. Quite a different presentation. NAIT50 more open and detailed, more nuances of a performance can be heard. XS3 has slightly fuller, warmer sound but can sound a bit muddled sometimes by comparison. For me, the NAIT50 is more enjoyable.

An interesting point because the Nait XS3 has a noticeably higher power and damping factor. Of course, this is no cause for concern for all current and future owners of the lovely Nait 50  I hope to receive a demo in the coming days. If I do, I will be back here with a very detailed description of the character of the sound of the ā€œlittle oneā€. Iā€™ve owned the SN3 for over six months and before that three different exes played at my place. SN3, I also combined my SN3 with an HCDR, owned 4 ex. Naita XS3. Iā€™ve listened to the SN3 and XS3 with quite a few monitors but for testing I like to use the ATC SCM7v3 the most for their balanced nature and very clear and well extended (for an OZ cabinet monitor) bass range. Iā€™m dying to know.

Thanks for the very helpful insight @Benedict and @Steeve. I was particularly interested in how the 50 sounds with a good external phono stage and a table similar to mine (I use a Rega P10). Not to say the Nait 50 phono will not be fantasticā€¦@110dB has spoken about the design of the internal phono particularly in regards to the bass and I believe for a lowered powered amplifier, going to work quite well foe many.

sounding nice now after a week left playing

I realise Iā€™m probably in a minority of one but I wish it had an input labelled CD.
