The new NAIT 50 Limited Edition

Yes quite possibly! Then Iā€™d have to plug my phono stage into a ā€˜CDā€™ input!

Itā€™s a 2023 product; no one uses cd players anymore. I havenā€™t played one in years.

I should come out of the closet and confess Iā€™m not a full cult member as I am using both Chord Company interconnects and, brace yourselves, Chord Epic X speaker cable. (I did check this thread and I saw assurance that it wouldnā€™t cause the NAIT50 to explode. )

I donā€™t have any NACA5 to hand to compare but I did have some ā€˜oldā€™ Witch Hat Phantom lying around which I thought might be a better match. Much to my surprise, the Witch Hat sounded quite nasty in comparison to the allegedly ā€˜bright Silverā€™ Epic. Epic far smoother and ā€˜nicerā€™ to listen to in my opinion.

Sounding excellent on good old (new though!) LK20, soldered onto the supplied plugs.

isnt saying that no one uses cd players anymore sort of like saying that no one uses turntables any more? some of us still use BOTH

Some of us still regularly use FM radio and tapeā€¦

Hence ā€˜Auxā€™ is ideal  (except no line out for tape of course!)

It sounds very good, the amp is powered with a Powerline and the CD player with a Chord Shawline Power Cord. It is my intention to connect them with a Chord Shawline X or a Chord Epic interconnect

Took me ages to get my head round using the TUN input on my Supernait 3 for my Urika line in.
:cold_sweat:
Now TUN means Tunes. :+1:t2: :joy:

Sorry if this is a daft question but are ā€˜pass throughā€™ boards able to be used on the phono (if boards are used!) as my 52?

Iā€™d really like to see how this sounds with my Urikaā€™d LP12 (with MCoil) into the SBLs. Otherwise can you get phono to 5 pin adaptors? Iā€™d obviously prefer the former.

Thanks

No interchangeable daughter boards used here. Just connect to the AUX input via an RCA- DIN interconnect.

Thereā€™s an adaptor made by Mayware. I did a back to back comparison with my LP12 and NAC552, first into the RCA inputs and then through the Mayware into a DIN input. It was clear that the latter sounded better (@Skeptikal Jim will disagree!), so I chose an RCA to DIN Sarum T interconnect between the Urika and preamp.

This is a picture of the Mayware adaptor:

This was my solution. Just bought a kontak/mayware adapter to go between the Urika and Nait50. Speakers will also be SBLs after moving to new house in september.

Well itā€™s here and unboxed. Put straight into the office system and it sounds very nice from the off - and Iā€™m sure thereā€™s lots more to comeā€¦.

Lucky man they look fantastic. Weā€™re unlikely to see one thanks to the lack of distributor.

I like your use of Epic, I was planning to go Shawline X

As an amp it deserves really good interconnects

Plenty more to come Simon, mine has been running for a week now and itā€™s improved massively :+1:

Nice combo.

I do like Chord cables and have a number myself.

However, if you can avoid stacking the two Naim components, that would also help the SQ.
