The new NAIT 50 Limited Edition

Scary volume level surely not. :scream:

I tried an Epic Power Cable initially on their PowerHAUS S6 (16Amp plug required) and was so impressed that I bought another 3 for the rest of the main system. Numpty forgot Turntable power supply - so another one will join at some time! When that happens it will free up a PowerLine which can then be put on the Nait in the office!
I know some will scoff but I had my eyes opened to the value of cables very early on, so I always push the boat out a littleā€¦
Probably next will be some Epic speaker cables - got some on demo at the mo and that to me beats NACA5 but donā€™t tell anyone I said that

Thats where the volume level was from the box - donā€™t worry did lower b4 putting music through - but yes shouldā€™ve checked first b4 connecting!

Unfortunately due to speaker cable and desk dimensions I canā€™t do anything else at the moment - but remembered Iā€™d got these - maybe theyā€™ll help a little?

Lovely amp Naim really done good with that.
If you have to stack Iā€™d swap them over. :cold_sweat:

Forgive my ignorance - but why?

No ignorance at all.
Itā€™s just I prefer control on top and also the thought of marking the top of your new LTD Edition would worry me.
Better airflow too.
In general if boxes have to be stacked usually the volume control is at the top.
Probably a personal thing. :+1:t2:

In my downsizing of the boxes exercise , cables and interconnects have helped me reduce boxes and keep quality.

Is the photo of the big Naim amp there to keep the NAIT 50 on its toes?

No its actually a coaster - donā€™t want any mess on my new desk!

I know its a little sad to have pictures of Naim stuff but the old pictures in the coasters had got rather shabby! So I made new ones - hope Iā€™m net breaching any copyright?

Perfect - you will be stunned, when you hear what is to come within the next 2 weeks. This is fantastic amp. I am totally sad, that I had to rob the Powerline from him and are currently looking for a 3rd one

Digital electronics tend to stay warm even when idle, and sometimes run hotter than analogue amps, so Iā€™m not sure your new arrangement will help with heat dissipation. No harm in experimenting though.

Having tried a few partnerships with the N50, I think the more neutral Rega P2 sounds better than my '89 LP12 in terms of balance. The N50 seems to reveal colourations that CB amps cover up or are sympathetic towards. The '02 LP12 also provides a better balance than the old Valhalla deck but not really an option for the office as itā€™s in the main system. Suspect the P3 50th Anniversary deck would make a nice partner or a modern Majik LP12 as the P2 doesnā€™t really show off the N50ā€™s abilities.

Similar story with speakers. Neither the early or late Kan 1s sound right to my ears. They are ok but original CB amps just sound right in a way that the N50 doesnā€™t. The modern amp is happier with more neutral Linn speakers like the Tukan. Probably happier still with a modern quality (non-Linn) speaker.

Long-term, I will probably have to invest in modern turntable (and perhaps speakers) or go back to the 12/160 as Iā€™m a bit picky about synergy.

Not heard much from other owners and how they are getting on. Has everyone been lucky with their source/speaker choices or still evaluating?
