I guess the difference in volume may be because of input sensitivity rather than power.
I couldn’t wait any longer and managed to install the Nait 50 to replace a CB Nait 2 in this setup. It’s sound great just out of the box. Already loving it. Hope it’s even better after running in.
I’m pretty sure that music will be on for the whole day while working from home today.
Good luck getting any work done! Fab system by the way.
Thank you.
Nice one - Enjoy
Thank you.
Nait 2 - 75Mv/47 KOhm
Nait 50 - 88Mv/47 KOhm
It matches very nicely, despite the 40-year (or thereabouts) difference. No one except a Naim nut would know the difference.
Give it a week or so of running in @Premmyboy , it’s superb.
I love the look of those speakers, what are they please? They look hard up against the wall which is much more accommodating in British homes!
Love the Vox amp…. What do you play through it?
They look like KEF speakers to me.
KEF reference 104/2 - if Google lens is to be believed.
Hi yeah Kef Reference 104/2. I bought them yonks ago at an auction for £99.
I took them to Kef for a new tweeter & couple of driver replacements. Cost me another £140 but they sound pretty nice.
To be honest they are better away from the wall but it’s a second system in the lounge so I can’t take the mickey too much.
The Nait 50 sounds pretty nice and I know it will get better over time.
Fronted by an 80’s vintage Planar 3 with AT cartridge.

Reaching for that volume control will be great for maintaining your flexibility.
How does it compare to the Nait 2?
Thank you for that. If you go to their website they link to the music video (in the article) in which they comparatively play music through the old Nait, NXS2 & N50. Quite revealing.
Yes, with some good lamp amps, its just 2 speakers (12 celestion green)
