The new NAIT 50 Limited Edition

Watching that made me think the new naim sound is going in the wrong direction and is not at all Naim getting their mojo back. At the same time that is merely those two sharing their subjective opinion. Which ever way things are going the old Classic, chrome and olive are exceptional gear.

How do use the 4 x 135s?

Your turntable, dac and speakers are three of my most wanted components.

It’s much better than the nait 2. Mine was serviced at Class A last year. I cannot explain in audiophile term but it’s more engaging into music.

I’ve listened to the clips which of course is not saying much but in comparison to the old naits the 50 seem much more detailed and “hifi” than the older ones which are more earthy and have more body/texture around instruments and voices. It’s obviously a shift in the tonal balance of the presentation. It’s a matter of taste of course but it’s also easy to initially think the more transparent and detailed electronics are better but longterm the more earthy and organic sound many times win. But that’s just me  I’m also one that easily get listening fatigue so the brighter presentation on any product is a nogo for me.

Yes I saw that video. Unfortunately I don’t own headphones😅 so couldn’t hear the difference myself.

Yes, I find them very helpful for deciding what is musically more enjoyable, but headphones are a must. I sometimes make phone recording and listen back to help with tricky decisions.

For the way my mind interprets music, I found the Nait 1 the most coherent, followed by the 50, and then the XS2. Not a surprise outcome and in no way diminishes Naim’s achievement.

Left my N50 powered on whilst we were away so looking forward to listening to that some more over the weekend.

Obviously I would have to listen to it in my own listening environment but it kind of puts me off when described like that. I too seem particularly sensitive to “bright”. We had a listening session at my house a few month ago and one of the more prominent listeners (with a lot of experience from different systems in different homes) said my system was among the best he had heard in our small town. At the same time I myself was disturbed by a bit too much brightness. The other participants thought I was overly sensitive.

I think that is my concern wit the ‘new’ sound. Is it voiced differently to the classic that it replaces, or is there a qualitative improvement?
I will try and get over to the UK before Christmas for a listen to the 350’s.

Cool so I can just sell on all my gear and listen to my smartphone. Honestily This bs is happening because of youtube nothing else, otherwise hifi is for sure dead.

Nobody will believe me but I heard (not listened) the new Eaton legacy in 2017 at the Munich high end THROUGH YOU TUBE CHANNEL and especially they played Nils Lofgren Someone must dream And I decided to buy them NEVER REGRETTED

What genre of music do you mostly play with the Eatons?

Maybe pop a yellow one underneath the green to shift out the blue tone?

Addicted to Audio also service Australia - my local dealer put the feelers out over here in Oz at great length and to no avail. It looks like there will be none heading to Australia or New Zealand unfortunately. I was lucky enough to have a sibling in London who was travelling back to Australia at just the right time and could obtain one for me.

Ear.net explains very good in my opinion the things about the NC200 series.
:ok_hand:

First of all the listening is not tiring at all since your ears get the sound from one single point
These bring no coloration to the music or very few, so very natural and relaxing sound.
They are good in pace rythm and timing Though it’s a 10 inch boomer, bass are deep and tight and high frequences not harsh at all
I find them excellent for rock, classical, jazz but maybe less advised for disco sound, boom boom sound I mean

Leaving the Nait50 on without any flow of music is not enough I think As previously mentioned, for instance connect the radio`.

That’s a shame but glad to hear you’ve managed to get hold of one.

I have the smaller D7.2’s. I replaced my 250DR with the 250.3 in January. While it is quieter, faster, more open and sweeter in tonality, I wouldn’t call it brighter than the 250DR. In fact, it is easier to listen to and less fatiguing than the 250DR.

As you know the D series is very transparent and will show off any added brightness.
