The new NAIT 50 Limited Edition

The GN DS-10 would look good with the ‘50 imho, the new Cyrus streamer would look equally as good and if you wanted a ‘British’ theme would suit well…

Roll on the end June

Would be good to keep long enough to compare your Nait 2 and Nait 50 side by side.

@110dB
A lot of Naim competitors use high number damping factors as a selling point for speaker bass control in their amplifier ranges.
Just wondering how the damping factor of a Naim amp affects bass control, especially as the Nait50 and NAP250 both have an advertised damping factor of 36, which seems a little strange given the different output specs. This would seem to indicate that it may not be that important after all.

I have the Zen Mini MK3 and it will be partnering my NAIT 50

It exists. @Faux75 dunnit.

There’s a whole thread on this on the old forum. IIRC the response was that it important up to around 20 and then becomes somewhat meaningless to get higher values.

Cool nait but I don’t get the limited edition thing.
If there is a demand for 3791 units, why make only 1973?!

I will do so!
Caught a mint CB nait 2 a few moths back and love it a lot.
Not planning to sell it!
Will test is against nait 50. won’t keep the new one, if the CB is better sounding - which I do not expect in anyway

It’s because Naim use a 0.22R resistor in series with the output of their amps. 8/0.22=36. Before the resistor the internal impedance will be very low.

When I was reading up on it in some other site, I thought one of the reps from the manufacturer mentioned it did have a casting feature?

Edit, just gone back to it and there’s definitely commentary relating to casting, at least in the latest details.

I’ve done that several times, indeed one of my best ever purchases (Ruark Sabres) were done that way

I wondered if you would go for the Nait 50, did Audio T have any thoughts on how this would pair with the LS3/5A?

I understand that Cyrus are signed up for the BluOs system and that new streamers will be controlled by the BluOs app.
That’s a feather in their cap.

Is the power amp a smaller version of the NAP 100?
ps more space allowed NAP 100 separate tranny windings for each channel

If you’re referring to the power amp section in the nait 50, the manual states it’s based on the brand new 250.

Oh, didn’t know it said that, I was looking at pics. Thank you (@robert_h).

Hmmm, I don’t think that’s about Chromecast but some kind of screen mirroring from the app.

But OTOH it supposedly runs Android, so you’d think (Chrome) casting should be possible. Possibly a licensing issue?

Nice one Graham. After all the crap you’ve been through, that’s a nice little present to yourself to complete your bedroom system.

With all that current, likely another great amp for Quads then.

If I remember correctly, the Nait used complementary pairs (NPN-PNP) and then Naim moved to quasi-complementary thereafter.

Not sure.

One of my preferences with a new streamer is easy access to internet radio.

Seems like there’s no native app for this included on this unit however and I’d have to go for one of the subscription services like Tunein, which irks somewhat.
