similarly; notoriously difficult to drive ATC SCM11s here in a small home office. and sounds superb to my ears.
Yep. Thatâs a combo that works really well. Apart from the manual volume control and distractingly bright power LED, I wasnât in a rush to remove it from my lounge system.
Amazing isnât it
Almost 5,500 posts for this little fella the N50
Testament to how good it is - in my view a bargain even at the original retail price

Certainly lots of people having a good excuse to downsize without losing face. ![]()
Yes indeed
I also have the NC 332/250
Whilst the Nait 50 doesnât really come near it if one is honest ( that combo is 6 times the price of the N50 here in Australia) there is just something about it that is a great listen
I bought it first week , seen no reason on view
Well it really is outstanding, certainly gave my outgoing 552DR/250 setup a run for its money⌠and to be honest I really prefer it to my old 552.
I suspect its simplicity goes a long way to achieving this performance in true high end Denis Morecroft style⌠where SQ trumps convenience features like electronic/digital automation.. although the N50 does have a metal case.. which in some super high end is a no-no.
I find it a bit odd as I have had my Naim Atom connected to the 606s and thought they then needed a bit more power. Not so with the NAIT 50 which on paper is lower rated than the Atom.
As I said above the N50 is a relatively high current amp with high power driver transistors⌠itâs the voltage that is affected by the smaller PSU⌠so doesnât feel odd at all to me. Remember the N50 can deliver over 220 W on peaks.. not sure of the atom, but I suspect nowhere near thatâŚ
I canât see the peak power stated anywhere for the Atom. Curious that the spec sheet is not common across products as far as they can be.
I guess it was stated for the N50, as itâs an interesting aspect of its design and performance.
Yes, Iâd agree that the simplicity of the amp and its lack of the usual features is an advantage here.
The DNM kit is certainly different, a bit more hair shirt than the N50, but IIRC from reading reviews back in the day, very well regarded and certainly unique.
I usually donât look for specs but recall my old Unitiqute 2 was 30w.
It was the predecessor to Atom which may be 40W ?
Anyway, my UQ2 was not a powerhouse to fill a large room at high sound level.
Once I had a Nap 100 connected, improved the need to play louder.
Made me chuckle
Hello,
If you could find a phono pre equivalent to the NAIT50âs phono input, what would it be?
Iâm testing a NOVA, and Iâd like to connect my REGA RP6 (EXACT MM) to it with the same pleasure as on the NAIT50.
will the nait50 work with a sub?
thanks !
no
Youâd need a sub with high level inputs, which youâd connect to the backs of the speakers.
Iâm guessing a REL sub would work?
Michael Fidler Spartan 15 Mk2.
I actually have one spare !
