It’s not a link, it’s a screenshot.

As Robert points out it’s not a link but a screenshot. Even so, I might well have decided to moderate it but as it came from Steve at Naim I allowed it.

And what a great suggestion they were to tame the overbright (to me) white LED…

currently enjoying the ‘yellow’ having had the ‘green’ on for a while… :rainbow:

Yes, screens should not be part of hifi gear.

They decrease SQ (other things being equal) and increase costs.

Any views on whether the Nait 50 would better suit a Linn Adikt or AT VM95ML?

Hi
I’d just buy whatever cart you like the sound of as usual. :+1:t2:
I think things were better when simpler.

Just thinking about things thats all

I have a 2002-spec LP12 with Adikt and an '89-spec LP12 with K9 body/VM95ML stylus.

I used an Adikt many years ago on an LP12 (Cirkus, Lingo, Ittok). I was using it with a NAC52 and the internal MM phono boards. I had bought it to replace a Linn K-9, which was a really lovely sounding MM cartridge IMO. Unfortunately I really didn’t get on with the Adikt at all and found I was playing fewer and fewer records. As usual with these things, your experience may be different. See if you can listen to a few options before deciding.

@Murmur
Hi
If it were me delving into nostalgia “ or the easier life “
I’d have no hesitation getting one of these.
IPT RigB 95 - Metal Body Upgrade For Audio-Technica VM95 Cartridges
And a nice new AT-VM95 cartridge.
Sorted.
Keep it current and serviceable.
Adikt were very hit and miss and had a few mods done on the stylus to stop bottoming over the years.
Marmite.

A major difference between the NAIT 50 and previous NAITs is that one button selects ‘Stream’ as an input.

If I had the proper IC made up (or even buy one off the shelf, if such a thing exists), could I plug a NAT-01 tuner into the Stream input at the rear?

You can use an ordinary interconnect. It’s a 5 pin DIN socket with exactly the same level etc as the Aux input. So yes you can connect a CD player to one of them and a NAT-01 tuner to the other if you want to.

Thanks but not looking to change as I really like the Adikt (in Lingo/Ekos deck - didnt like it in Valhalla/Ittok deck) although its better with the lugs removed in order to get proper alignment. The latest version does without them so no need to file them off.

Thank you, David, for a very clear explanation that even a simple lawyer such as I can understand!

I’m hoping that James Allney at TomTom Audio can find a CB NAT-01 for me. Slight overkill, perhaps, in a ‘second system’ and I’d have been happy with a NAT-02, but they are in the hen’s teeth order of rarity, James tells me.

Thanks so much for that confirmation. I am most grateful!

Tx,
Probably wasnt clear but wouldnt want to change the decks as they are nicely setup and each work well as a whole.

Just think of them as input 1 and input 2, you can connect whatever you like; cd player, minidisc, tuner, tape “play”, dac …… anything with a line level output.

The third input is straight into a phono stage so record players only.
