The new NAIT 50 Limited Edition

Our demo NAIT 50 is up and running and well, well, well. Naim have well and truly hit the ball out of the park. The NAIT 50 is by far the best shoebox Naim integrated amplifier. Anyone contemplating getting a NAIT 50 should try and make a move fairly soon before they’re snapped up.

Simply put the NAIT 50 has soul.

Thank you very much, Robert, for that reassurance. You might think that, as a Naim owner and user for over thirty years, I might have picked up some knowledge, but that seems to be not the case!

It’s a subtle hint to get you to try streaming, Graham

I’m thinking of getting one of these, I have an external phono stage (Rega Aria) as I currently use the AT33EV MC cart with my LP12/Ittok. Will my phono stage connect to Nait 50 without issue as well as a CD player are there enough inputs? Also anyone tried the headphone output and any suggestions on some compatible headphones? I’m thinking about trading in 72/HiCap2/180 as now need to listen on headphones sometimes as not to disturb my wife when she’s reading. The system is set up in a very small room and I’m using MK1 Kans. Less boxes and brand new amplifier is very appealing.
Interested to know your thoughts.

You’ve got two line level inputs (on DIN5 sockets) available on the NAIT and with suitable cables, use one for the CD player and the other for the Rega Aria.

If you’re thinking of buying the new NAIT, speak to a dealer soon, as it seems to be selling out pretty quickly, and only a limited number are being made.

Indeed that’s what I did with my R .Aria connected to one Technics GAE - Hana ML custom boron cantilever. What a punchy musical and detailed PRAT combination !

Is the “crackle” paintwork on the case of the NAIT 50 exactly the same as old Naim CB cases?

I ask, as I’m trying to locate (and may have found) a CB NAT-01 tuner, and wonder whether they will be a match for each other.

The crackle on the old CBs is more ‘crackly’, on the '50 it is a much smoother finish, if that makes sense.

I posted some piccys circa 6 days back that may help…

The powder coat finish is more like that on the current Classic range - it is more refined.

If you’ve found a hens tooth “pull it out”
Too trivial to worry about. :+1:t2:

I dunno but if you’re worried about how well the paintwork matches, how will you cope with deciding which input to plug the tuner into?

I don’t doubt this and would like to own one - but won’t.

The early shoebox Naits were startlingly good fun but comfortably bettered by, say, a 42/110.
