Things I’ve done in the last 24 hours, version 2.0

“Up to” 14 months. That could mean anything.

Same with most “sales”

“Sale ! - Up to 50% off everything !”

Mrs D gets hooked every time :star_struck:

She’d be even more star-struck if it said “up to 99% off”

It’s true if you shave once a week and just go with the stubble.

Yes, like my neighbour’s Whisky bottle that has lasted over 10 years because he doesn’t drink it.

Went to GP surgery for bloods though suspect that the request originated at Belfast City Hospital. Appointment was before 9am and I think my blood was still asleep so it took a while.

Email this afternoon from NFU that my travel insurance claim has been approved.

Refitted six sets of door handles upstairs following the decorators (Dave & Hannah :+1::+1: ) painting the hall, stairs and landing. That was the easy bit! I then moved on to the seven downstairs sets which are all changed/new…..so naturally they didn’t quite fit**! Got five done today before I gave up! Two to finish tomorrow, plus a new coat rail in a cupboard. Then on to the more pleasant task of rehanging pictures/photos - the Lego Concorde is already up on the landing wall (being the most important  ).

**one of them was the classic “bathroom” latch and deadlock combo. The new Yale assembly came with the latch set for “left hand”….inevitably I needed ”right hand”. “Easy to change over” said the instructions…..Oh what fun I had with that bloody latch spring! Much scrabbling around on the floor to retrieve said spring, along with a lot of “naughty words”, but I got there in the end!

Received a welcome five hundred notes in my bank account from those nice folks at Canon UK, for “cash back” on a camera body (EOS R5 Mk.2) that I bought before Xmas.

Trundled to London to see End at the National Theatre, good but lacked a little something. Two handed Saskia Reeve and Clive Owen, think it was more of a script issue.

Then last Eurostar train to Brussels for the city’s motorshow.

Haven’t been to a motorshow since that virus. Looking forward to seeing how it compares to Geneva, Paris and Frankfurt.

Looking forward very much to seeing the new Fiat Panda and Renault Twingo. The only cars that appeal to me that I may potentially be able to afford!

Allowing myself a large sigh. Text from my GP after my quarterly bloods. Need 6x B12 injections in the next 2/3 weeks. I will of course partake but I am also going to express my annoyance that this happened a year ago and I was told quite insistently that once stable I absolutely would not need tablets. Sure enough, despite the reasons for my depletion being known and unchanging, there has been the steady decline I wholly expected and now here we are. Wholly avoidable.

Made an on line claim on Pet insurance for one of my Labradors who has an infected and split tail.

Bill was £399

Uploaded the receipt onto their website at 4.30 pm yesterday and payment (less £100 excess ) was paid into my bank by 9 am this morning

Fantastic service from Manypets

Of course it’d have to be the ‘landing’ wall unless you also have a ‘take-off’ wall

Owing to reissues and remasters I have several records twice or more. I have just had an initial clear out and have taken several to one of the local charity shops. Hence my collections of Led Zeppelin, Genesis, The Beatles and Pink Floyd have all been reduced. I feel quite good about it and will have to move on some more.

Had a bit of a shock the other evening, while trying to get out of the chair to go to bed. I leant on the side table, where my laptop resides, and it tipped and I fell flat on the floor banging my back and elbow. I was shouting for help, but I could hear Sarah was cleaning her teeth, then she came down to help. Managed to help me up, more shock than hurt, I just had some bruising the next day. Today I have packed my bag, ready to go to the hospital for a hip replacement tomorrow. It has deteriorated noticably in the last few weeks, just getting around the house is difficult now. Fingers crossed for a good outcome. Oh, and I now need a new laptop, big crack, and not working properly, like me.

Done a sort out of LPs in one of my storage rooms to put some order in place e.g. all ECM albums arranged together.

Feel better for it - and a suitable job with it bucketing down outside.

Finished off the afternoon by levelling the deck and adjusting the Aro. Sounds better - its in the sweet spot with optimum attack (holy grail search for Aro owners) !

I hope the procedure goes smoothly and the pain/discomfort is kept to a minimum.
