It was molten when it went in so it’s stuck to the skin of my ear canal.
Ouch!
I could feel it burning
, it should loosen as the skin sheds.
Just received two of the three bags we checked in at Vienna airport last Friday. The flight back to Heathrow was cancelled about 15 minutes after we had checked in. Luckily we were able to return Saturday morning but via Berlin. Still one bag floating around even though it came back to Heathrow yesterday.
A place to discover some truly wonderful traditional musicians if you have the time.
Sat in Olhao in pretty much the perfect weather conditions for me. Been awake since 5am so everyone else has conked out bar me. Quiet and lovely. Hoping I might now finally shake my 4 month cough.
Just told the 20 year old off for the fact that their second band have a YouTube channel but he failed to tell either parent.
Long overdue that the first band get this sorted.
What are the statues of the two men please?
I’m going back today to look properly.
Good 15 km walk on day 2 of stay on Gozo island. These are salt pans built hundreds of years ago and still run by a family who collect the salt early in the morning from May to September. I bought some salt from the owner who was a delightful bloke until he revealed that he, like most of Malta, are rabid Man U fans ![]()
We flew back to Heathrow from Cape Town last Thursday/Friday. As I waited at the baggage carousel at Heathrow I looked to see where the AirTags in the two bags were. One was apparently last seen in the international check-in at Cape Town and the other was last seen in a transit store at Cape Town airport. I tried to ignore that, but was still relieved when our two bags came round on the carousel one next to the other ten minutes later.
Presumably this was due to the AirTags having no comms. The last time I used some on a flight I could see that our bags (or at least the tags!) were on the plane before takeoff, and that they had arrived at the correct airport when we arrived.
Yes. It’s interesting that the tags didn’t see any phones after the positions shown by the Apple Find My app. My previous experience is that the tags aren’t normally shown as being on the aircraft. And a couple of years ago, as I reached to take a bag from the carousel in an internal airport in South Africa, I got a notification telling me that the bag I was just lifting up was last seen 2000 km away.
I guess when your tag is in a big metal box such as a storage building or the hold of a plane there is likely to be no device within range for them to connect to.
Yes I’m sure that’s it.
What technologies do airtags or the other types of tags use to identify and report their position?
Basically, Airtags work by connecting by Bluetooth to any phone with Bluetooth enabled that is nearby and the position where the connection took place is sent back to Apple.
Thanks. So it relies in being within 10m/Bluetooth range of any ‘phone. So no Bluetooth, no location and reporting. I guess being on the planet more than 10m from a phone is unlikely now. Bit cheeky that devices BT to my ‘phone and report in without my permission?
