This track really tests your system!

Hi have just found the album by James Blake titled ‘James Blake’.

Listen to ‘I Never Want to Share’.

Wow, ok, the voice is well outside the speakers on both sides, then a duet voice joins in wide, but not as far. The placement is unbelievable.

Listen to this album as a real hifi test, and to impress your non-hifi loving friends!

I can’t find this on Qobuz, never found their searching that great though….

I use Innuos app which I really like but if you hit the playlist tab in Quobuz and pop in audio lounge it should come up.. some wonderful recordings.

Me neither. The Qobuz search tab through Naim is terrible.
Much easier to search directly on the Qobuz app, save as a favorite, then it shows in the Naim app.
Just me anyway

Can’t find this playlist either, tried via Qobuz and Roon, strange

This confuses me; it the voice is outside of the speakers on both sides, surely there is no placement. You’d surely expect the voice to be much more central, otherwise it’s just part of a wall of noise.

The track I’ve always found fun is Sunday Papers on Joe Jackson’s first album. Joe sings ‘if you want to hear about the gay politician’, which is followed by a ‘yeah’ way off to the left. I never understood how they did that.

No, not showing on the Qobuz iOS app, nothing comes up as a search in playlists….

I wonder whether there is a regional restriction on it?

working ok here, yes, very possibly regionalised somehow

I haven’t used the Naim app since I got my Innuos server but on quobuz I found it here

I found it easy enough
Just typed Audio Lounge Leicester into the Qobuz search bar and…

It’s a pity, I was looking forward to the first track. Fortunately I have the Kiss version on vinyl - studio and live versions :joy::joy::joy:

It works through the Qobuz IOS app here Mike .

Got it via the iOS app but couldn’t find it via the Windows app on my laptop?

A lot of course will depend on your speakers, their placement, and the room…

One I find uncanny is The ballad of Bill Hubbard from Amused to death by Roger Waters - the quiet spoken voice of Bill, a WW1 veteran recounting experiences, sounds as if he is sitting on the sofa next to me on my left. It gave me a start the first time , involuntarily looking to my left!

Hi Innocent Bystander,

Yes great album. Three Wishes is the best showing this in my view. I am going to post a thread in the hifi thread regarding acoustic room set up, as doing it has made Bill Hubbard and the dog barking from 1n wide if the speaker to adjacent to me!

I will post pictures on the hifi thread.

Yeah it’s always fun when they play with track channel phase in production. One of my favourites is One of My Turns on Pink Floyd’s The Wall, with the line, Oh wow, look at this tub? Do you wanna take a baaaath? - it really sounds like she is in your bathroom calling to you outside your listening room - a little disconcerting at first but fun

Another track on the album by James Blake:

Limit to your Love

That bass - is it taught because it hits!
