Time for a change?

Hi Phil,

I fully appreciate that, as frustrating as it may be. All I can do is sit patiently and wait for my turn which I hope won’t be too long. I am sure they are doing everything they can to speed things up.

In the meantime, we have music through the tv to keep us happy

Kind regards

PB

All will be great for you, Sir, when the system finally sings again with the control of a 500DR. :sunglasses:

All good things come to those who are patient. I’ve gotten to the point, I try not to expect, so when things don’t happen, I’m seldom disappointed, and when they do happen, it’s a bonus. It’s given me some peace.

Cheers

We’re getting, there. I have sighted some of my kit. Just one box to go now

Really looking forward to your reports when everything is in.

I guess some level of burn in can happen with everything else while waiting for the 500. Just having power into the boxes is going to make a difference and if you can borrow any sort of amp to make it all work then even better. I did 552/500/2x555/CD555 service all new at the same time and it took a while to fully settle down.

Gosh… easily more boxes than a student leaving home. :upside_down_face:

If there are insufficient parts to do the DR upgrades of the 500 series, then presumably there is also a shortage of parts to build new 500 series units as well? In which case the existing stock is going to be all there is to sell in the meantime? Perhaps Richard could enlighten us?

And I am looking forward to having the kit back and being able to make a report

I couldn’t get one of those boxes in the back of my car, thankfully I know a man with a van

I assume you are right, although I guess there is a small stock of units for new kit. I guess the price of second hand units is rocketing.

More worrying is that I read somewhere there will be no new DR units in the future due to lack of parts and that would be a real shame.

All my kit is sat in Peters unit, there’s no chance of getting anything powered up and run it although it would make sense.

On another note, the music’s appeared after a couple of busy days. We have a back room where the music is stored which keeps the front room as simply a listening room

Interesting record cleaning machine, how does it work?

I love those Roksan Caspian mk1 CD players, very underappreciated!

Would you mind telling me where you got that storage unit from? It looks to be just the sort of thing I could do with acquiring in the very near future…

Simple, you put the record on the floor and then hoover it :joy: :joy:

Indeed, I had one of the originals, great sound quality. If I had an amp, I could hook it up and have another system

I had one of my clients hand make that for me. Its around 30 years old and still looks good. Its now in its third house, it can be taken apart and moved quite easily and is fantastic storage.

I assume it is a wet & dry vacuum cleaner?

Chordless, thank goodness.
