I only caught the last 25km of the stage, from what I saw it was another entertaining stage. I am unsure if this is because the organisers have devised a great set of stages or if the riders competing for each of the jerseys are providing the action or a mix of the two.

Whilst Tadej is slowly creeping further into the lead and has to be the favourite, he hasn’t sealed the win yet and Jonas could turn it around with a big stage win next week. Tomorrow I think will determine whether the positions are set or the last week will be where it could be decided.

If Pogacar takes more time tmrw it’s all over

This is beginning to look like the Giro again; no one can keep up with Tadej.

Today Tadej Pogačar showed his class and it’s a tough act to follow, however with 7 stages to go it’s far from over yet, anything can happen and it usually does.

A creeping concern is competitors falling foul of Covid, either testing positive or experiencing the systemic symptoms. Plus many riders have abandoned due to not feeling well, whatever that means, and these riders are not all bunking off for the Olympics.

UAE Team Emirates knew that Juan Ayuso had tested positive for Covid 19, it was a faint positive so he was allowed to continue, he kept separated from the other team members which must have had a lonesome effect on the 21 year old Spaniard.
Perhaps this is why he decided to abandon yesterday (?) or more likely he didn’t want to risk spreading it to his team mates.

Rumours of illnesses sweeping around the peloton are abound.
I hope it doesn’t happen and spoil the show, but it worries me to see spectators at point blank range on the gradients cheering encouragement / gob shouting microscopic missiles of spittle at their ascending idolised demigods breathing in the air at full capacity lung flap.

Stage 14 wasn’t all bad for Vingegaard, his two consolations are overtaking Remco Evenepoel to gain 2nd place on GC, plus tomorrow’s Stage 15 he gets to wear the Polka Dots after becoming 2nd in the KOM.
Pogačar owns the Polka Dot jersey but this will be loaned out to Vingegaard :red_circle:

Stage 15 : Loudenvielle - Plateau de Beille (197.7km)

A day for the GC guys, the KOM, and French stage hunters for ‘Bastille Day’ :fr: and with a rest day tomorrow maybe a more determined breakaway - plenty of stage hunters looking for an opportunist win.
But this is a long and difficult stage with every likelihood of claiming more victims.

I’m pretty indifferent to most sport but as it’s passing through my town on Tuesday I might take a stroll down to the route to see what all the fuss is about.
Apparently “ des animations seront proposĂ©es sur la place des Etats du Languedoc durant cette journĂ©e” whatever they are, probably not cartoons.

Don’t forget to take your camera and show a few snaps here :slightly_smiling_face: :+1:

If you can get to the finish you could photo Cav as he crosses the winning line

They’re passing through but PĂ©zenas is nowhere the finish for section 16 in Nimes. The animations may include a screen for the entire section but that remains to be seen. I anticipate some atmosphere but as to actually getting a direct view as they pass I don’t know if that will work out.
The riders’ names are unknown to me and I certainly won’t be committed enough to lean them and their colours, if that’s how these things work. I can try and take a few pics as they go by but no idea who I’ll be shooting.

:yellow_square: The one that looks like a six foot banana on a bicycle is Tadej Pogačar :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Yes they will woosh past very quick, better to position oneself on a hill where the riders slow down on the gradient - they still come at you very fast but not as fast as on the flat.
If it’s a bit impractical or too crowded out then best not worry and soak in the atmosphere and enjoy the moment :sunglasses: :fr:

One 'ell of a race today. Tadej carried the show once again today and doesn’t look there will be any serious competition to threaten him.

unless Tadej contracts Covid.

I am still looking forward to next week after Monday’s rest day!

Tadej looked so assured and not the slightest bit flustered I really cant see anyone stopping him now
If he rides the Vuelta he could easily achieve a triple of Grand Tour’s
theres a thought.
Although its not a given that he will win this tour but barring a bad crash or illness hes just a beast on the bike and just so strong .
Another thought were is Geraint Thomas
he seems to have vanished ?

He has covid. He stated it was only mild enough to allow him to continue but he’s been at the back since he announced it a few days back.

Thanks mate that makes sense a fit G would be at least in the top 15 on G.C
I like Geraint he just keeps going doesn’t he.He must be 36 - 38 now I guess ?
