The mighty Don Keele (who brought us Constant Directivity Horns) with his CBT (Constant Beamwidth Transducer) Array. A loudspeaker whose polar pattern is constant over a wide frequency range.

design by definition is a plan, drawing or concept so these drawings, concepts and plans i posted whether AI or otherwise are on subject

I always find transducer arrays problematic. The design can do so much right. But the number of drivers means there is soooooo much to go wrong.

You’d always be thinking, is one of those tweeters not working or is one of my ears not working? It would drive a person nuts.

Design might be is a plan, drawing or concept, but the converse is not necessarily true, and I don’t see that an image drawn for the image’s sake, as I believe those are, is a design!

This is what makes Keele’s design so innovative. Despite the large amount of transucers, he’s able to effectively ensure a coherent wavefront (no lobes). Some great additional info (including his AES papers and links to the prior art) are available on his website…

Concert on an airport, close to a Boeing aircraft ?

Don’t you recognise this scene from one of the greatest movies of all time? :joy:

Some have been sequestered under a rock, don’t mind them. Indeed one of the greatest movies of all time, saw it in the theater in ‘85.

I have enjoyed watching the film (several times), but I dodn’t particularly recall that specific scene, at least not enough to recognise the image.

Me too.

Looks like it sounds amazing.

Martin Logans against the wall. Do they really work well against a wall, like Naim speakers?

They were mine some years ago and that’s my photo. :grinning:
