I have a humble Unity Nova but am experiencing exactly the same ‘issues’ and frustrations with SQ as those with ‘more revealing’ systems.
I stated in the earlier thread that FW 3.8.x was simply wonderful.
3.10 was unbearable and 3.10.1 is better than 3.10 but (to me) is a long (very long) way off 3.8.x.
No changes to my system or accessories or positioning/room nor to my hearing.
It’s just the firmware update!!
It would be incredible to hear the 3.8.x SQ again!
But…. I think this is unlikely and I’m going to have to source alternative equipment to get to my ‘happy place’ again.

I have a Nova and a 500 series set up and it experienced it in both. I tested the Nova back to back before and after upgrading. Thanks for letting me know I am not going mad.

Good idea - but no… with 500dr 25 kg and LS 35 kg each …
It’s easier to invite the dealer to me - this is next the step.
There has been some dealers who have the same experience with their demo kit!

I get it! It feels like something that we were totally happy with has been taken away from us and replaced with something just not quite right. However things could be corrected very quickly. I enjoyed two really good hours of streaming yesterday. All unused input settings off and ground set to floating. I can’t help but feel that it’s one small tweak or adjustment away from excellent. Ok I admit I’m a glass half full guy (probably why I dislike social media) but please let’s see what the coming weeks brings.

Had exactly the same yesterday - picked the good albums and was happy again.
Strange, that more a joining here and with a wider range in product range. Don’t think that is originated from pure thread infection.

Interesting Drago. Yesterday I felt steaming was the best that I’ve heard since 3.8.8. You also? As for “infection” you really might want to use that ignore a member setting more. I must be up to 30 members. I hope that anyone who dislikes my posts does the same to me.

Strange - exactly as I thought yesterday. Best since 3.8.x. But I have not listened much from October to end of December.
Today it was more harsh.
Floating and all off helps. Yesterday I thought that only a bit more room and micro detail and we have a winner. As you mentioned - not much to do.
Today I am feeling that it is fluctuating again - but could be my mood (damn weather)

I too had a lovely morning streaming like @drago and then hit Laura Marling - patterns in repeat - Your Girl. All the S and T sounds are painful at anything near or beyond 8 o’clock on my 552. I was using Qobuz.

With 3.8.8 all was fine with her album (I have it on CD)?

I also like Laura marling a lot and had the same sibilance experience with her albums.
With 3.8.x there was still a variety:
- sharper produced ones with edges - but still good to listen
- Perfectly balanced ones
- More held back ones - these were very good as they came to shine after a minute of listening
Now with 3.10
- harder produced albums - some hardly to listen or unlistenable (over the threshold)
- Perfectly produced ones - still good with more digital signature and some rare edgy tones or songs.
- Held back albums - strangely they do not shine as they need edges. In some of them it’s good but there feel compressed.
…And i am one of those. I think the last two FW updates are superior sounding to what came before.

Strange - I feel the sibilance is ok here.
I have not heard that album - am now on the second track. God I love her. Love this electronic feel - was also listening to Beth Gibbons just now. Love the folky electronic vibe. She brings my system to life. As you say the production sometimes too much and sometimes not enough. Her first album was a little bit held back in production terms compared to the space in this last one. Still lovely.
