It was part of the plan so here we go 52 on it’s way. Will keep 82, check out 52. If all good send the 52 for a service at Class A , get AV bypass done and then sell 82.

The 52 is an excellent amp, and imo way better than the 82, which itself is no slouch. I think you will thank yourself for this one.
52/sc/135’s is an epic combination and may even stop your need for amp upgrades. I’m stopping at that system and concentrating my LP12 for now.

Thanks Graeme. I think the system deserves a 52 at the very least. I am delighted with my system. And now I have a powerline on the way and a 52. What more could a man want?

I think the 52 has to be the best bang for buck Naim pre. Especially with an 82 you can flip to offset the cost. I reckon you’re in for a treat.
Looks like a cracking example to.
I’ve never worried about the age of Naim units, only condition and service history. This one looks well cared for and, as I understand it, it will have been brought up to latest spec as far as possible when it was serviced.

Do you have a record cleaning machine?
Perhaps Discogs could find mint originals of your 5 or 10 most knackered LPs?

Hi Nick, I don’t have record cleaning machine as yet. I have about 300 LPs. Alot are new, a fair amount are used but cleaned. And I have a load of my Dad’s LPs. Not jumping or problems on the whole. Look guys, getting the 52. Maybe call it a day now. Lol

FWIW, I think you have made a good decision.
I changed from a 32-5 fronting an olive Supercap/ 135’s to a 52, and the difference was startling for a while: it was a bit like going from a car to a very fast car. Not a great analogy, I grant you, but your 135’s will thank you for the change

I reckon a 500 non DR at right price is only a matter of time. The 135s are holding system back. They just aren’t loud enough. I need more power.

Hi @Dan_M I’m so happy for you. When my 52 arrived it went straight in the car boot and off to Darran. When it came back I was blown away. I think you have done the right thing and, yes I’m going to say it, I might regret it but, I doubt you will ever want to change it. Let me know what you think in a few weeks when you are listening to it and you get that WTF moment.

I found a great analogy which I think is appropriate for moving from an 82 to a 52. It’s like drinking the wine rather than smelling it.
