All the info you need is here

Actually @robert_h that link is once again giving a 404 error for the PC firmware updater…

Hi @Natan

Have you got the Naim app on your phone or iPad or similar?

Is your streamer a Naim ND5XS or a Naim ND5XS2?

I need to download firmware 4.8 in order to use Tidal in my streaming right now I am working with 4.3 version which unables me to download Tidal app

I tried to click on the link you send to me and doesn’t open anything, I am going in circles without getting any answers

Try here;

Click on the underlined link first for the guide. Read that, then click on the boxed link at the top to go to the actual download page.

Hi Jim i have the ND5XS and the Naim application in my ipad and in the phone i connected the unit to my Mac laptop and it dosent allow me to download the 4.8 version i tried to follow all the instrucdcions but n othing

Natan, if using a iMac and downloading a none apple piece of software, you need to force the mac to open it. Sometime it is an option on the right click and then choose option that allows download. I’m a bit hazy myself and I haven’t done in a while. A bit of Googling should get the correct way to download the file.

EDIT: haven’t tried this but may help

Open a Mac app from an unknown developer

If you try to open an app that isn’t registered with Apple by a known developer, you get a warning dialogue. The app has not been reviewed and macOS can’t check whether the app has been modified or broken since it was released.

Overriding security settings to open an app is the most common way that a Mac gets infected with malware. You should not override security settings if an app hasn’t been checked by Apple, even if the app looks like it comes from a major developer. The safest approach is to look for a version of the app from the Mac App Store or look for an alternative app.

However, if you choose, you can still open an app from an unknown developer by manually overriding Privacy & Security settings.

  1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Privacy & Security in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  2. Go to Security, then click Open.
  3. Click Open Anyway. This button is available for about an hour after you try to open the app.
  4. Enter your login password, then click OK.

Yes, still getting 404 error, also on the mac updater. Yes, I am clicking on the correct link, the first one, not the one that gets you the update guide .pdf
I used to tell everyone how great it was, that Naim supported legacy devices as much and as long hardware allows it. Not so sure anymore. (formerly) happy Naim customer since 1984. Sad.

The links seem to be broken again.

Getting 404 on the PC update opening on iPad if I try today.

click >> here << for Windows

click >> here << for Mac

they are both there

It’s very odd. I checked several times today, including just before you posted and the PC updater link gave a 404 error although the Mac updater link was working.

But I agree it is working again right now.

1000 Thanks! Your link worked! Now I just need the Naim app to work again, seems to have stopped recognizing both my Qute and my SuperUniti.

yes, original now (Nov 12) works again w/o 404 error.
