I’m not aware of any retailer taking money for pre orders not any I use anyway.
Cover art by Mati Klarwein of ‘Bitches Brew’ fame.
‘Demon’s Dance’ is a Tone Poet that I am really looking forward to. The original Liberty LP is pretty elusive and expensive. Usually has a deletion corner cut if found too.
Me too didn’t know that about the cover art very interesting.
Not sure If I misread something somewhere, I thought Let Freedom Ring is forthcoming (maybe BNC?), just had a quick search and nothing came up
That one I will likely skip as I have a good copy but I would think it would be a very good bet as a ‘Classic’.
I’m still reluctant with the Classic series due to the pressing problems. I’ll take another look, I might need new glasses!
Can I ask what the difference between this new release and the 1999 reissue on CD that had ‘the full concert’ on it? I realise that the 1999 reissue didn’t get a vinyl issue but the full concert had 16 tracks on it and this and the 2cd reissue that goes with it have a few more than that. What are those additional tracks? Asking for a friend concerned about his wallet!
I have a dear friend who is in the concert video recording/production part of the industry and they will put new videos up for pre-release to gauge interest to decide on pressing runs to minimise deletions etc. And they will often put the pre-order up even before they have finished editing the release and often many months before the DVD/BlueRay will be released. And if they don’t have enough interest they will delay the release until there is an event they can tie it into. Maybe the music interest does the same as well as to drum up a frenzy of interest to sell 500 copies of some special release! I mean I was getting emails from The Coral months ago to preorder their latest issues, in a variety of formats and packages! Cassettes! Really?
Great cover.
You are so right!!! I was on that trip and I’m happy Mofi-gate stopped me. Not because of the digital step but I thought about what I was doing there. I believe I am not the only one…
John Lee Hooker - It Serves You Right To Suffer, Elemental Music (2023)
I’ve wanted this for a good while but VMP, Speakers Corner and AP copies are all more than double the cost of this Elemental issue I’m not sure of the source though doubt it’s AAA but it’s worth a shot.
FOMO Alert People.
Hi @James_C I only have an original Vinyl and no CD. They say that there are 2 new tracks that were never released before.

Irreversible Entanglements - Protect Your Light, Impulse Records (2023)
Although there has been the odd decent track on their previous records on the whole it’s not been enough to tempt me into buying them. The two tracks released from the this new LP are both very good hopefully the whole LP is as good.
Sofia Grant - Extinction, Jazz Re:freshed (2023)
Excellent EP from this young Jazz vocalist the theme of the EP is the enviroment and the record itself is pressed on sustainable, recycled materials.
Don Drummond Jnr/Jackie Mitto - Heavenless/After Christmas, Soul Jazz (2023)
Another 12" from Soul Jazz’s Studio 1 series.
thank you. I’m just intrigued as the 1999 clearly boasts it is the full concert…we shall see in due course. The wallet remains safe for now!
This is a great album. I have an older reissue from the 80s and love it. Can’t wait to hear what Kevin and Joe have done to it.
