Tubby Hayes Quartet: Grits, Beans and Greens
An artist I’d not visited before; I’m not even aware of hearing any of his work before, so I just took a punt with this ‘lost’ album. Boy, is it good! I’m thoroughly enjoying it. Good sound too from 1969.
Bobbie Gentry - Fancy
From the excellent The Girl From Chickasaw County box set
Eva Cassidy - Imagine
Norah Jones - Come Away With Me
Two wonderful songstresses and two lovely albums to ease your mind.
Joanna Newsom - Have One On Me
LP 3
One of my favourite albums of the year.
A really enjoyable but quirky album from Kenny Anderson (King Creosote) with Jon Hopkins adding some vibes
Sparks - Kimono My House.
Gee some of the other threads are getting nasty, think I might just stick to playing music. My first for a Monday morning in the office, Neil Young Harvest, an excellent album.
The Smiths - The Queen is Dead.
Spandau Ballet - Gold, nothing but pure pop.
I’ll admit to having this CD as well… bought principally because of the final track; ‘Through the Barricades’ which I’ve always enjoyed.
Mrs Pete loves Gold and True, I don’t mind them but they are a bit shallow.
Steve Winwood - Arc of a Diver.
