This has been on heavy rotation in the house as it is SWMBO’s favourite album of the year.

'cause it’s the first album of the first artist in the 'J’s

Excellent baroque with psychedelic tendencies.

Cheese, schmalz, call it whatever you like but he was the antithesis of what a rock and prog loving teenager listened to or hero worshipped! Mum’s music, in the same category as Burt Bacharach; I’m afraid his voice will never darken my system’s door. Some prejudices are just too ingrained to overcome!

What a coincidence - I’m playing this whilst catching up on this thread! What a talent that man was back then. Does anyone know if he’s still recording?

Ray LaMontagne. Monovision. This has been recommended by quite a few , most recently by @seakayaker. Another excellent discovery.

Sophie Zelmani - Sunrise

Excellent voice (which is mixed to the front), tunes which bop along nicely and good repro - albeit a tad shy at ~30mins.
