Heather Newman, Burn Me Alive. CD.
@NigelB recommended another album from Heather Newman yesterday or the day before and it stirred my interest. First listen, and I’m hooked after 2 tracks.

Mahler. Symphony No3. Bernstein/New York Phil.
This may be the first time I’ve posted a classical music album. Favourite of mine but I’m not knowledgeable enough to say how this compares with other versions.
Add to that the BBC 1971 In Concert version also on the Early Years box set. Always used to love the added raunch to parts of that back off the old bootleg versions.
Good spot Doc. Forgot that one!
What a recommendation! I just can’t stop listening to this. So much so I had to buy it. Going to have to give this forum a miss for a couple of days because I’m spending too much money.
One of my favourite Yes albums in recent years
Yes - The Ladder
This 1999 release was a bit of a creative return to form for the band and was produced by Bruce Fairbairn who was at the controls for a fair few classic rock albums, he tragically died at the mixing stage of this album and the band dedicated the finished album to him.
Now playing…
Anouar Brahem - Souvenance: Music for Oud, Quartet and String Orchestra
Anouar Brahem (Oud), François Couturier (Piano), Klaus Gesing (Bass Clarinet), Björn Meyer (Bass) and Pietro Mianiti (Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana).
Streaming on Qobuz (96/24)… kicking off this morning with one of my favorite albums from Anouar. It is simply a beautiful album written in time of, as the album description states, “The music of Souvenance, by turns graceful, hypnotic, and taut and starkly dramatic, was recorded in 2014 six years after oud-master Anouar Brahem’s last ECM album, The Astounding Eyes of Rita. It took a long time to write this music, he acknowledges, noting that his emotional world had been usurped by the unfolding story of political upheaval sweeping…" The album is sounding superb and helping me ease into the day!
It doesn’t seem to be available on any streaming service, sadly.
