Quite evening in
I would recommend checking out Anourar’s complete catalogue, they are all excellent.
I’ve already ordered one. Getting an NDX2 shortly so will be easier to rummage through his work!
maybe it is me but I found it to sound just a little too produced, a bit too metered and perfect. I really like her but this one just struck me wrong.
It was actually someone else who originally recommended the Heather Newman ‘Rise From The Flames’ album, I just recycled it. Having said that, there is a place for re-recommending great finds on here because it is so easy for a great album or artist to fly under the radar on here as there are so many recommendations.
If you like Heather’s stuff then I would recommend Danielle Nicole’s ‘Cry No More’ album, if you have not heard it. Very much a similar style to Hearther Newman, but if pushed I’d say Danielle’s voice just edges it. A great album from a great songstress.
Our Heather is also bit good, don’t you think?
She’s great - what a bass player, too! I never heard of Danielle Nicole, I’ll try and give her a listen, thank you for the recommendation
BTW I realised you were recycling an earlier post but I just coouldn’t find the original post

If you’re going to post something for the first time might as well GO BIG
There as many opinions on the ‘best’ version as there are on the best HiFi.
They’re you’re ears so if you like it it’s right for you and I’ve found that whichever version you later hear it will always be compared to the first version you heard rightly or wrongly.
…congratulations on the NDX 2! Anouar’s catalogue is on TIDAL an QOBUZ and most likely other places as well.
I think if you buy it as a download you can stream it infinitely. I certainly got access to 24/96 download and unlimited streaming when I bought the LP.
Jerry Garcia. Garcia. Debut solo album from the late singer, songwriter and guitarist from the American band Grateful Dead.
Groundhogs | Blues Obituary | 1969
Some fine old 'hogs blues rock with their main man Tony McPhee’s guitar sounding wonderful.
Now Playing…
Trygve Seim - Helsinki Songs
Trygve Seim (Tenor and Soprano Saxophone), Kristjan Randalu (Piano), Mats Eilertsen (Double Bass), and Markku Ounaskari (Drums).
Streaming on Qobuz (96/24)… continuing on this morning with Trygve’s ‘Helsinki Songs’ and it has been a while since I have taken the album out for a spin. This is one fantastic quartet and they are sounding so sweet at the moment!
Thanks for that tip! I am inclined to go for QOBUZ. Never had a full streamer so it will be a new world of discovery!

I had Tidal for a couple of years and when Qobuz reached the US I gave them a trial run and they offered much more hi-res and their available catalogue worked with my listening tastes quite well. The added bonus was they were $5.00 less expensive for their monthly subscription. Some folks like one over the other and it is nice to have options. You will have the opportunity to trial both once you have the NDX2 set-up.
Certainly looking forward to that! I had heard that qobuz has more in the way of high res options. The new black beast is due about middle of October and I’m sure will be an improvement on my HDX!

On BBC iPlayer, first shown last night, INXS live from Wembley in 1991.
Just brilliant … but turn it UP!
Fish, Weltschmerz.
Fish has said this will be his last studio album, I do hope he changes his mind on that. It cannot have been easy to follow his modern classic “A Feast of Consequences” and I am pleased to say he has done a great job of making it. Using Tidal, as my deluxe CD has not arrived yet.
Thanks for the review and heads up, Simon.
