A powerhouse of a live band with Dennis Greaves’ amazing guitar playing (and songwriting) and Mark Feltham’s lead ‘guitar’ harmonica.
Bought this on vinyl on first release. Interesting cd re-issue has legendary Glyn John’s original mix which is just pants compared with Simon Boswell’s edgy production.
Saw them live in 80. Play their live album a lot. Great stuff.
Same here around that time I remember they had the wig out strobe light effects during Sugar Beat Rhythm Sweet.
Richard Thompson - Livestreaming from London
Second of RT’s livestream gigs, playing solo, songs from his Fairport time and his debut album. Folk-rock and ‘60s rock songs sung and played by a master musician. Wonderful.
I’m going to have to play that today now, I’ll be humming all day if I don’t.
I’m with you just picked up the guitar two opening chords Cadd9 and F6 - just off to bed otherwise i’d be strumming those all day.
Carmen Rizzo - The Lost Art of the Idle Moment
New to me, but released in 2005. This is warm and melodic downtempo electronica (or something), with a host of delightful, breathy female vocals. Perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon. And these days, everyday is like Sunday (with apologies to the Small Faces, Jackson Browne and Morrissey).
Promoted by @AndyP post starting my Monday morning with my fav Stones album Some Girls.
I saw them play Reading Festival in 1980 and although I was a greasy young rocker at the time they were great live!
Elbow The Seldom Seen Kid, love this album but I’m stuffed if I can ever get the volume right with the first track aptly named Starlings.
They look like a younger Bee Gees (plus a few extra members)
