it’s true
Bonny Light Horseman.
Finally I got a vinyl copy. I tried to get it months ago but it was out of stock everywhere so bought a copy in the US delivered to my brother. It is a very very fine record. A huge thank you to Ewemon and others that have recommended it. It is on heavy rotation at the moment.
I am a fan of his. I really like his early records on BASF here in Europe and he did some cracking work with Ernest Ranglin.
David Bowie - ChangesNowBowie
Recorded in NYC in 1996 and broadcast by the BBC on Bowie’s 50th birthday on the 8th January 1997. It’s a mainly acoustic album of some of his favourite tracks. Finally got a physical release in August’s RSD.
The Michel Petrucciani Trio - Live At The Village Vanguard / 2002 Blue Note / EU CD / 724354038228
Recent mentions by others of the Village Vanguard prompted a spin this morning.
Ray Charles - The Genius Sings the Blues
From the 16 album An Easy Introduction to the Blues, thanks to @TheKevster for the recommendation.
Richard & Linda Thompson. Hard luck stories. Final disc covers Shoot out the lights which is one of my favourites. I’ve been lucky by getting a collection that has not had the problems some others have suffered. It’s a great set well packaged. The only criticism is the discs are housed in cardboard slots. I have therefore placed each disc in Nagaoca anti static sleeves to prevent future damage.
Any relation with the passing away of Juliette Greco ?

Every now and again you come across something on Qobuz and you think ‘wow that sounds really good’, this is one of them
John Mellencamp - Words And Music
Any body wanting an introduction to the music of Mr Mellencamp should get hold of this excellent two disk career spanning retrospective, if I was pushed I would say disk one is my favourite but there’s very little in it. It’s £6 on the big river at the moment which seems like a bargain to me.
Wagram Electronic - limited edition 10 CD box set 2007 : )
It sure could be ![]()
Juliette Gréco, 7 February 1927 – 23 September 2020
Randy Newman - Sail Away
Have shown this album loads of times on this thread I make no apologies for that just a stunning piece of work.
Reading a Bio of Juliette Gréco today revealed numerous interesting stories and connections with people like Miles Davis and Quincy Jones, and apparently she was the inspiration for the Beatles song ‘Michelle’. A remarkable woman who was a role model and idol for many people.
