Nikki Iles - Hush / Basho Records / UK CD / SRCD 38 2

Jesse Winchester. Better known as songwriter I had forgotten his debut album until it was flagged by both @AndyP and @Gazza . Well worth a listen from 1970.

This gal can belt out a choon! Shame this particular album sounds a little compressed on the livelier tracks though.

Sass indeed!

Nils Petter Molvaer - Khmer

Nils Petter Molvaer (Trumpet, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Percussion, Samples), Eivind Aarset (Guitars, Treatments, Talk Box), Morten Molster (Guitar), Roger Ludvigsen (Guitar, Percussion, Dulcimer), Rune Arnesen (Drums), Ulf W.O. Holand (Samples) and Reidar Skar (Sound Treatment).

Streaming on Qobuz (44.1/16)… continuing on this morning with Nils and this talented group of musicians are sounding superb! Enjoy this album quite a bit and enjoy the description from the ECM website, “Massive beats and throbbing grooves underpin the Norwegian trumpeter’s fiery solos in a project that forms a bridge between ECM’s improvised soundscapes and the brave new world of trip-hop, drum’n’bass, ambient/illbient, techno, industrial, electronica and samples.” Not for everyone but works for me…

The Lenny Henry Show on R4.

Good on the graduate returning to the parental home, who just wants to be an influencer. And The North.

Now In Tune Mixtape on R3.

A great headphones track

The cover is a bit of an unfortunate distraction, its a pretty decent album without the girly stuff imo.
